I was contemplating buying a new SACD player to hear the new remasters.Sony has one for about $250 however there is a snag.Because the new SACD'S have so much info passing thru you can't just hook this player to your existing amp/tuner unless it too is capable of supporting the 6 output stream that comes from SACD's.Only a few Sony and Philips units even have this.Yes the new CD'S in regular format are supposed to sound much better but it will cost upwards of $1000 for a total player/tuner/speakers system capable of giving you the true SACD sound enhancements.Just an FYI... |

NOW YOU TELL ME!!!
And the Stones reissues are all in 2 channel
SACD, as well. Which means even if you spend
bunches of money buying an SACD player and
upgrading your amp to accomodate the 8 channel
input (you have to do the 6 + 2 to be able to
play regular CDs), it still probably will
still sound the same....
I just bought an SACD player and contemplated
upgrading my amp but finding one that has the
6 channel input AND a phono output is a little
difficult. I still wanna play all my vinyl. |
