lucasd4 I think "Don't Stop" has the potential to be a really good Stones song. It's got the basic ingredients...catchy guitar riff that runs throughout the song, sing-a-long chorus, and the strongest melody in a leadoff Stones single since "Mixed Emotions." I really like the bashing Keith chords after Mick sings "Don't Stop" each time. While I don't think it sounds a lot like "Start Me Up" as was rumoured before, it does sound very Stonesey to me...I don't hear the Jagger solo sounds that many around here claim to here...and even if it did have a Jagger solo sound, that's not an entirely bad thing...many Jagger solo songs would be great if the Stones were playing on them. "Don't Stop" gets better each time I hear it, and that's a good thing...most of the best Stones songs are growers, IMHO...what will ultimately make or break the song is the production and mixing of the studio recording...if it gets the classic Stones treatment with thick, ballsy, Keef guitar sounds and a gutsy Jagger performance free of the over-enuciating vocals of late, it could be a very good Stones song

swapwoodfortaylor You are so right. The best grow on you. I still struggle to believe that I didn't 'shout from the rooftops' after the first playing of JJF and Mother Baby all of those years ago. I have since learned to persevere! If readers are downloading from Kazaalite....check after start as some loser has called an unknown track 'Don't Stop Stones 40 Licks' to draw attention to himself!

CORRECT "BABAOSSI" IS HIS USERS NAME!

On June 16, 2001 the hit counter of the WET page was inserted here, it had 174,489 hits. Now the hit counter is for both the page and the board. The hit counter of the ITW board had 1,127,645 hits when it was closed and the Coolboard didn't have hit counter but was on line only two months and a half.
