Anyone notice Mick takes a shot at one of his lady friends, most likely the one that proclaimed he was the father of her child and caused all the hub-bub between he and Jerry back a few years ago in Rain Fall Down.
"Forty thousand quick, some bimbo spilled the beans" Mick sings as he states he had just turned on the TV. He sings this as though that is how he first heard of the news. He sings as if at the moment he is in another lady friends place getting breakfast in bed. I am assuming the forty thousand (as in $40,000 dollars) was how much he had to put up-front to his lawyer to handle the matter.
Cool Mick situation and done in the mode of how he would of wrote and sang about such matters in the late seventies and early eighties.

Ian my man...Did I hear it as 40 thousand quid?
Good song, great dance track. I bet they reissue it with a long version, what say you? Did you hear the phone ringing? |

Oh Ok. I was not 100% sure (mostly because it hadn't been mentioned yet). Thanks for the insight.
Actually I think my idea works better as a Stonesy thing....oh-well, who the fuck am I anyway!
By the way what is a "quid"? A queer squid or something?.....
