Topic: new vine: as yet unnamed 1978 US Tour project (vol. 1) Return to archive Page: 1 2 3
April 4th, 2004 10:31 AM
mac_daddy as the first installment of the fledgling 1978 Tour project (which still needs a name), I will vine one copy of Gorgeous Girls Redux to the group. This is the same source that is being treed @ Shidoobee (I am a branch, so as I was burning leaves, I burned a set to go out to RO members)...

I did not think that Handsome Girls needed an upgrade, but I have to admit - this set, which is Cool Cool Hand's remaster job of Handsome Girls, is outstanding. It absolutely must be in every fan's collection...

I would like to send this to a US resident - that way I can drop it in a mailbox tomorrow, rather than stand in line for international service. Hopefully one of the vine recipients will see their way clear to ship a set off to Europe, South America, etc...

of course, if you wanted to trade, you can always fire me a PM

how this works...

I make a set of "seed" discs, and send them to the first numbered person on the list. He/She then makes copies for him/herself, and sends the seed discs to the next numbered person on the list. It is important that the seed discs are the ones that are passed down the line because I verify these discs, thus insuring that everybody gets the opportunity to receive a clean copy. Just be sure to treat the seed discs with care...

If you are burning for leaves, then you are agreeing to make more than one set of copies...

To sign up, simply copy this post, and add your board name in the appropriate spot...

If you can copy audio CDs for yourself - sign up in one of the numbered places as a "branch"

If you are unable to copy/burn discs for yourself, sign up in one of the lettered spots as a "leaf." Then simply contact the branch you are under, so you know where to mail your B+P...

If you are willing to take on some leaves, simply indicate with the lettered spots when signing up - tia .

I am sure that a European branch will spring up soon, try waiting for that, first

like I said, it is a remaster of the previously released Handsome Girls. I think that material is the exact same. But this has been remastered, and the result is a noticeably finer-sounding set, which I did not really think was possible. But it is possible, and this set is definitely worth checking out...

Thanks so much mac_daddy and Martha!!!!

1. To those wondering about GG, I've not heard GG, but I think it addresses the problem noted in the FAQ on Handsome Girls:

US radio '78 (various); 140 min; 10.0 s; "Handsome Girls"/many others
Dandelion's release also adds a few more rarities from lesser quality audience recordings. However, Dandelion did not use the best source for the previously missing 4 songs; for that you need the obscure and very mis-titled LP "Live from England 1974," which is all '78 radio broadcasts!

2. As for names:

It's Not About Bianca
Pile It High on the Platter
Suck This Lydon
Now I've Got Enough Jam

I just sent you a PM. Thanks a million!!
April 5th, 2004 09:11 PM
mac_daddy I love seeing the interest - not much is better than enjoying good music...

so who is gonna volunteer to take BillyBoll as one of their leaves, so he can start this one off in Europe (and the originals that I burned can continue to circulate in North America)? He already has one leaf (Celtic Stone)

Timeless Europe is crap. There are countless Brussels 1973 boots and I have most of them but the SM version is an insult to my ears. I don´t even have that on my tradelist.

Just my 2 cents.

Same material that was EQ'd. Where's the 1972 title SM promised a few years ago. That would be something new.
