I don't know how many responses this will get, but I think this special song deserves its own thread, so other fans can share the love over this really cool, somewhat unique gospelly Jagger piano track deserves its own thread.
So here it is!
just another treasure from that dank basement in France

Definitely one of my favorite post Exile outtakes. Love the cool sounding electricity of the opening and the gospel strut of Jagger's vocals. I've always dug the way he sings "I don't give a shit at all!"

Love this outtake. It's like a grittier Hide Your Love, with a bit of a solo Lennon feel in there as well, or some Van Morrison influence a la Winter. From that great period where Mick could've sang the yellow pages and sounded like the coolest dude on earth. |

is that a guitar or organ through the Leslie on the intro, it has sorta rotating sound, like on "Let It Loose" (another song that deserves its own appreciation thread!) but the instrument sound isn't as "tremolo" as LIL though. Does anyone know? |

oh yeah definitely there are better unreleased ones, but this one is special and unique in their catalog (released or unreleased), would've fit in well on any of the 72-74 LP's or as a b-side during that era. It seems to be an obsurity, even among the stones unreleased tracks, which is really a shame. |

Yes, tops, it first appeared on the magic "Could you walk on Water" boot in late 93, that had stuff that we'd only read about in books, like English Rose. Speed was odd, it got fixed on a VGP release I think, possibly called "Fast talkin"
Wonder if this is an Exile or GHS outtake though, the wah wah sounds more like GHS. |
