no offense Gazza, but that last time you gushed about a song like this you were talking about Laugh I Nearly Died.

in hindsight, I dont think that was a song worth foaming all over

I doubt this one is too

thanks. Hold On to Your Hat came out really good. The engineer's comments at the end would appear to suggest he thought the same

its far, far from great.

in fact the song does nothing for me

Its a pointless cover. They were wise not to release it. Even on Rarities!

maybe so...

sorry man. But I find the song boring. No "chills" here at all. Sounds like filler for a solo Jagger album.

but this is your msg board, not mine, so go right ahead and gush about it all you want

Saint Sway thanks Altamont

I'm digging the boogie woogie piano on HTYH!! They should of left that in!!

the Keith track was interesting to hear. Bit of a train wreck but if he worked on it it could of been cooler than the Mick version. As is, I doubt I'll ever give it another spin.

Gazza Keith actually recorded AHYS for Talk is Cheap and theres a rough take of it in circulation - although in much lesser quality than this one.

Interesting that the music on this version sounds pretty much like its the finished version, yet the lyrics Keith is singing are quite different in parts to the released take. Sounds like Jagger just rewrote the lyrics and overdubbed his vocal take. I remember reading somewhere a while back that Keith wasnt crazy about some of Mick's rewrites of his lyrics.

Interesting version of Mixed Emotions too. More raw than the original, with an extended outro and pretty long (6 and half minutes)
