Jagger Joins the MCC

Mick becomes pillar of establishment
After years of being Britain’s most famous rebel grandfather, Mick Jagger has finally rebelled against his rebel roots – by becoming a member of the MCC, Britain’s most famous cricket club. ‘Yes, I’m a member of the MCC,’ Mick admitted during the Test Match at Lord’s this weekend, ‘but I’ve never been in the pavilion. I was very glad to have been accepted, but I’ve never taken advantage of the facilities.’ Normally, it can take up to 20 years to join the exclusive club. Jagger’s fame may have helped speed things up. ‘Lord’s is the same buzz as a rock concert,’ he says. ‘You can’t beat it.’
