CS ROBERTSON GIVES "THE LAST WALTZ" NEW LIFE

ROBBIE ROBERTSON and director MARTIN SCORSESE have added previously
unseen footage and some new interview clips with Robertson to the DVD
release of the BAND's "The Last Waltz," due next year. "What's really
interesting is to look back and see what a historic event and extraordinary
musical collaboration it was," Robertson told Rolling Stone of the
performance, which included guest appearances by BOB DYLAN, ERIC CLAPTON,
VAN MORRISON, NEIL YOUNG and others. Robertson is also working on
assembling a new Band box set, also due next year, which will feature
numerous unreleased recordings. "I'll be glad to see it done," he said, "the
way I always felt it should be done."
