To be honest, this news makes me more confident for London.
A week off should be sufficient time to recuperate unless his condition is pretty serious (which doesnt appear to be the case as they obviously thought Valladolid had a chance of happening going by the late cancellation) and I was a bit concerned that if he tried to sing again too soon it could make matters worse, even for a show that would be 4 days later, and it could put several more shows at risk.
From my own personal perspective, I'm relieved they're taking no chances tomorrow, although I realise that sounds a bit selfish as there are over 30,000 people without a show to go to.
Gutted for the Spanish fans however who have now lost all four of their shows this year, despite every one of them having terrific sales. Hopefully the Stones will make it up to them in 2007 and reward them with extra shows as well.

Or in Argentinian spanish:
La puta madre que lo parió, que mala leche que tenemos! Me cago en la concha de la lora!
"Mala leche" = bad milk = bad luck
"Concha de la lora" = parrot's pussy = typical Argie expression.
In honor for those Argentinian fans in Spain.

Anatomical correction, Madafaka:

Funny -- That is a wonderful idea -- Perhaps they will be so well rested that the band will schedule even more shows in the States this fall ( Necessary to win gross ) .

Twickenham will go ahead as planned according to a Stones spokesman..its also worth mentioning that a Catalan TV station in Spain reported yesterday that the Stones have stated they will be back to play their cancelled Spanish shows in 2007 - in which case, this is the first official indication that there WILL be shows next year
Stones cancel second Spanish gig
The Rolling Stones have cancelled the second and final Spanish concert on their European tour because Sir Mick Jagger is suffering from laryngitis.
They had been due to play in the southern town of El Ejido on Wednesday but this has now been called off, just as Monday's gig in Valladolid was.
"Unfortunately I have no other choice and I apologise to everyone who bought tickets," Sir Mick said in a statement.
A spokesman said Sunday's planned gig in London would go ahead as planned.
Two dates are to be held at Twickenham Stadium, normally used for rugby matches, in the coming week.
These will be followed by shows in Glasgow, Sheffield and Cardiff.
Doctors had ordered Sir Mick to rest his voice after he became unwell over the weekend. It is not the first time that the tour - which began in the American city of Boston a year ago - has been interrupted by illness.
The Stones had to alter several dates when guitarist Keith Richards required surgery for head injuries.
He fell out of what he would later describe as a "little tree" while on holiday in Fiji in April.
