Jair True they recorded only 18 songs?

I can't read all articles around and maybe they had talk about it but I don't know...

Anyway, would be cool got some singles with extra songs, huh? But, on the other hand, as Voodoo Lounge the Jap edition has no bonus track this time...

gotdablouse We've alsways heard 18, so that's the 16 plus "Under the Radar" that got lost somewhere. Actually 18 sounds like a reasonable number, Keith had declared they'd recorded something like 30 GREAT songs in 2002, wonder what happened to these...Steel Wheels had something like 35 or 40!

I'm sure one sad day when the band comes to an end these tunes will slowly be made available. Between unrealeased songs, live recordings, rehearsals, & jam sessions there will be Stones music released for the next 100 years!!!

J.J.Flash Probably these 2 will be part of the Japanese damn thing.....

Hey, haven't you already bought Godzilla doll?!?! If you choose the bigger one, XL size, the pricey one it comes with balls of poop + costumes + fake food + egg (the egg cracks up and there is a little Godzilla inside). It even stinks.... but that can't be sold separetely. It's part of the expensive model.

Soldatti They recorded more than 120 songs since 1989, but only 72 appeared so far including ABB.

gotdablouse You sound a little vague my friend, any details ? How many are you counting for the Paris 2002 sessions ? ;-)

they recorded for all of two weeks in 2002. The vast majority of those tracks (about 26-28 or so apparently) were little more than rough demos. I dont recall Keith saying they recorded 30 'great' songs but he did admit most were unfinished.

They finished about 16-18 songs for Steel Wheels. If they recorded many more, they would have been little more than rough ideas for songs. No way would they have finished 35 songs in a 6 week session

VL was the only album since Dirty Work where they genuinely did record a huge amount of songs. Being their first in 5 years plus the length of time the sessions lasted (several months - unlike SW, BTB, 40licks and ABB) that would be quite natural

For most of the last few albums, theyve been in a hurry to finish the album to a strict deadline due to a tour coming up, so they havent wasted a lot of studio time by needlessly recording extra songs that theyre not going to use...instead focussing on the songs that ARE likely to get released in the short time frame they have to make a record.
