Gimme Shelter Where's "Can't You Hear Me Knockin"
August 3rd, 2004 06:09 PM
Gazza Good track selection in theory, but if they were to put out another compilation I may not be responsible for my actions
August 3rd, 2004 06:19 PM
DJAsh It might give people who only know the usual stuff a route into the tasty chewy fruit cake under the icing...

fuck them - They've had enough chances over the last 40 years to stuff their faces on the band's music

DJAsh That does NOT include 13 -15 year olds who are just starting to explore music !!!

corgi37 Let them explore their own bodies first, then worry about a bunch of dudes in their 60's.

We want new stuff, and we want it........

NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Gazza >That does NOT include 13 -15 year olds who are just starting to explore music !!!

it does. What are these bands supposed to do - bring out a compilation every few months to appeal to a few 'new' consumers too lazy or unambitious to buy the rest of their output for themselves?

And you dont have to be 13-15 to explore new sounds or any music for that matter.

let them buy a compilation and take it from there. Thats what I did when I was 14. There are enough buyers guides to the music of any act including the Stones to give them tips on where to go next (all music guide for example). plus they can download for free to their little heart's desires.

There's never been an easier time than now for exploring music at minimal expense.

Lol. Gazza thats funny. If I hear of another compilation I
may very well turn it in as a Stones Follower. Not meaning
I would forget what they have done thus far. I would just quit following their progress from there on out. In the future sure, of-coarse, but another compilation within the next year or so will make me vomit.

We have had on over-kill of compilations and live stuff from them since Bridges. Think about it.
1. No Security-live....fine, why not, do it
2. Forty Licks-Basically a greatest hits thing with some
extras....sure, sounds great, could of did
a new studio album then the Forty Licks thing
but it worked. Fine
3. Four Flicks-Live DVD, Great!, cool concept, took away the
normal live album after tour thing yet it was
hot!
3. Singles collections-Well, I don't think that is necessary.
4. Live Licks?-enough, not needed now, infact...not really
wanted.
