Gazza If ever there was a night when the Stones should FINALLY open a show with 'Sympathy', it has to be here. The first verse is made for a show opener, but the second one, here, right in the square where the Winter Palace is located, is pretty much written for the occasion.

Even as an encore it would be cool. hopefully they'll have some sense of occasion and wont just stick it in right after the b-stage as normal.

If money had been no object, this is definitely THE show I'd most loved to have been at this summer.

This would have been a cool show I agree. I was hoping to make an 02 show, but things did not fall the right way.

Maybe SFTD as the encore.

thejuf well, one cannot deny that this tour has got some surprises: Wight and St Petersburg...
I agree with Gazza: if there is one place-to-be this leg of the BB tour it sure is St Petersburg.

No. their only Russian show before this was in Moscow in 1998.

i sure wouldn't mind pounding my 6er of busch ice next to that statue and seeing the stones.
i am just so used to hearing about them playing stadiums and arenas...not squares and parking lots.
