msgdesign Curious as to what folks would reccomend for audio or video must haves for a stones fan? Ive just joined dime and have downloaded the sappro dome japan show from 2006, midnight magic san fran show from 1972, and I thought I would check with those in the know. Is there anything other than the san fran show from the exile tour? Video even?

Starbuck i might suggest:

1. exile on main street
2. Angels of Wonderland's "Christmas with the Muppets"
3. Joey's "Songs to Fart By"
4. Moonie's "Hotel California tribute"

and of course:

straycatblues I assume you mean bootlegs...
here are the definite "must haves" imo
Audio:
69: San Deigo-november 10, altamont-december 6,
70: all average or less than average sound, no must haves, but some good versions of "Dead Flowers"
71: Live At Leeds-march 13,
72: Both Fort Worth Shows-June 24th, New York City-July 26
73: Brussels-October 17th (1st show), both Wembley shows-September 8/9th
75: LA Forum-July 13
76: any of the Paris shows in early June,
78: Passaic, New Jersey-June 14, Forth Worth-July 18, and all the rest of handsome girls
81: Hampton-December 18

Video: Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones-1972
Gimme Shelter-1969 (officially released)

That should be a good start.

MrPleasant A Bigger Bang sucks like a big underpaid AND YET over-rated hot stinky mule's ass.

And it breaks just like George Bush's ass.

But "Infamy" kinda cooks.

Gazza "Midnight Magic" is far from the best recording from the '72 tour.

Check out the "STP '72" (7 CDs) or "Work Sucks - Lets go on tour" (8- CDR fan project) which covers all of the available soundboards from that tour - Fort Worth, Houston, Philly, New York, Pittsburgh, etc

The best shows on the tour are probably the run of shows in early-mid July, which are only available as audience recordings in variable quality - the best of which IMO is Charlotte 6th July.
