Topic: Leeds '71 tonight on BBC Radio 6 Return to archive
August 3rd, 2004 09:24 AM
BH_Rambler I don't know if this was posted yet, but there is gonna be a re-broadcast of the Stones '71 Leeds show tonight on BBC Radio 6, which is available on digital satellite. Let's hope someone makes a good digital copy of it. It would be great if they re-broadcast the complete show, cause we only have one version (I think) of Taylor-era 'Live With Me' in soundboard quality (on Ya-yas).

I doubt they still have the original show in it's entirety to be honest, knowing the BBC. The original broadcast starts with (I think) the 3rd song and every broadcast since has been the same.

theres bound to be more soundboards of "live with me" though surely. Live R Than You'll Ever Be and Marquee'71 for example?

jb I heard it a few weeks ago and it was the same as the boot, but had those obnoxious dj's interfering ..feckin wankers who know nothing about the Stones....

jpenn11 Isn't the broadcast in stereo, unlike the circulating recordings?

Also, I've seen a setlist posted elsewhere suggesting the omitted first two songs are included in the broadcast.

Gazza It was. they played about four or five songs. lasted no more than about 20 minutes. A waste of time.

You can always rely on the BBC to give you the best value from their archives!

Those they havent destroyed, that is! idiots
