Topic: More on "I Got A Disease" by Mick Jagger and Rob Thomas Return to archive

VoodooChileInWOnderl (8/6/02, 12 p.m. ET) -- Matchbox Twenty's next album will feature a song co-written by the Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and Matchbox frontman Rob Thomas.

Jagger co-wrote the song "I Got A Disease" with Thomas, and the track is slated for possible release as the album's first single. This is the second time Jagger and Thomas have collaborated. The pair penned "Visions Of You" (*) for Jagger's 2001 solo album, Goddess In The Doorway.

Matchbox Twenty is working towards completion of the album with producer Matt Seletic, who now also heads up Virgin Records. The still-untitled set is scheduled for a November release.

In other Jagger news, the Stones mouthpiece recently celebrated his 59th birthday (July 26) in Toronto, Canada, at a local club called Charlies At The Government. He was joined by bandmates Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts, plus friends and guests that included actor Michael Douglas and film director Mike Figgis, best known for the film Leaving Las Vegas.

The Stones' World Tour kicks off September 3 in Boston, Massachusetts at the Fleet Center.
