Did anyone else see that news item on IORR about Mick playing amazing Grace on harp and Keith and Ronnie playing guitars for Chuch's funeral?
That must have been a real tear jerker!

I posted the news on July 25 one day after the funeral and I'm sure it was not recorded. |

They also played it - with vocals - at Mick's mom's funeral. I bet THAT really WAS a tearjerker, as the lyrics reference a mother dying.
Enough of this depressing stuff. SPIV! SPIV! SPIV! |

Ah, Alex. Do not judge a book by its cover. Sounds ballyhoo and awful for the Stones to do "Amazing Grace" but who knows? It could've been beautiful. I mean, our beloved hardcore Stones fans around here would ask for a mixing board bootleg even if they played the alphabet song or "My Dog Has Fleas" or dare I say it, "Sing This Song All Together (See What Happens)." So it just makes it better to find if it was a good folk song at a funeral for their guitiar technician. |

FYI, that song was actually written (or at least the lyrics) by a "Scarred Old Slaver". According to the myth the guy penned when he was going down with a ship. Repented of being the slave trader when he was shown to the door. |
