Gimme Shelter Not to my knowledge
1st August 2007 02:12 PM
Saint Sway Never.

Many have moved on to go follow other bands and refuse to attend Stones shows because of this (see: Some Guy)

Fiji Joe In America, ER, like David Beckham, has never been played live

1st August 2007 02:30 PM
Gazza Mick would need to have weights tied to his scrotum to hit that falsetto nowadays....
1st August 2007 02:32 PM
72Tele I thought I had a boot of the Smashing Pumpkins doing it in the 90's.

ha -
i saw a band play it at a stones-tribute gig..
two guys and two girls......the crowd went crazy.
it's a much more beloved song than perhaps the stones realize - maybe the most underrated stones hit ever - it made it to #3 that summer and i remember people who were not even fans loving it. .

MidnightRambler I don't see why Mick can't do it. He can do "Worried About You" just fine.

ER I don't think would work live. Maybe in a smaller setting like a club.

and liz fair also used to do it live...
1st August 2007 02:39 PM
glencar They should at least do a snippet of it during Miss You; it's basically Miss You Part Deux.
1st August 2007 02:48 PM
Saint Sway the entire 'Emotional Rescue' album is the true crown jewel of the Stones catalog.

many of the songs on this 'Emotional Rescue' have never even been attempted to be played live by the Stones because the band and many of their greatest fans hold the original recordings of these songs in such high esteem and reverence that it would be sacrilige to tarnish them live in any way.

He has to shriek to hit the high notes in WAY when they play it live now. Not like the studio version when it was still in his range

I believe it was rehearsed in '99 and '02. If we're going to pick something off of that album, I'm glad we got She's So Cold, but I think Emotional Rescue would be pretty cool. Send It To Me would be even cooler.
1st August 2007 03:14 PM
pdog No one but Bill Wyman can handle this songs bass line... That's why Miss You sucks live now.
1st August 2007 03:17 PM
glencar Um, Porgy, that's Ronnie Wood playing that fabulous bass line in ER. GOTCHA!

the entire concept of the b-stage was created for "Summer Romance" to be played on it.
1st August 2007 04:03 PM
MidnightRambler "Where The Boys All Go" should have a home on the B-stage
