Sir Stonesalot I just got this book called, "Listen To This" by Alan Reder & John Baxter, published 1999 Hyperion. It's music recommendations from some pretty great musicians.

Here's who recommended the Stones:

Ryan Adams-EMOS
Paul Barrere(Little Feat)-Beggar's
DMC(Run DMC)-JJF, BS, Wild Horses, HTW
Steve Earle-EOMS, Flowers
Alejandro Escoveda-recommends the entire catalogue
Georgia Hubley(Yo La Tengo)-BTB
Anna & Kate McGarrigle-SFTD, 12x5, Aftermath, BTB
Thurston Moore(Sonic Youth)-TSMS
Graham Parker-12x5, Got Live If You Want It(!?!), OOOH, SF, EMOS
David Sanborn-BTB
Ricky Skaggs-The Singles Collection
Jeff Tweedy(Wilco)-BTB
Loudin Wainright III-Aftermath
Bob Weir-England's Newest Hitmakers, 12x5
Lucinda Williams-December's Children, Aftermath

Discuss.

how bout EMOS? Exile Main On Street? Or SOME (girls) backwards?

Which album sounds the best backwards?

TSMR I guess.

If I had to guess Thurston Moore's favorite Stones album, it would be TSMR.

Because it sounds the best backwards.

swapwoodfortaylor Hell! It's an age thing. Ozzy (although I hate to try and speak for others....but I am in his age group) would undoubtedly vote for Their first, which The Septics call 'Englands Newest Hitmakers' and he would probably say positive things about the UK 'Aftermath'. Can anyone explain the appaling recording, (but wonderful playing), on Their 3rd, ie. 'Out Of Our Heads'. If Klein can clean that one up......then he's got Golden Bollox'!

On June 16, 2001 the hit counter of the WET page was inserted here, it had 174,489 hits. Now the hit counter is for both the page and the board. The hit counter of the ITW board had 1,127,645 hits when it was closed and the Coolboard didn't have hit counter but was on line only two months and a half.
