8/1/02, 12 p.m. ET) -- A possible title and release date for the upcoming Rolling Stones greatest-hits album has been revealed. The new solicitation catalog from EMI Music Distribution says the title is Forty Licks, and that it will be released in October via Virgin Records.
A spokesperson for the band was unable to confirm the news, telling LAUNCH that album information--including the track listing and the number of new songs to be included on the set--has been changing.
The Rolling Stones tour, marking the group's 40th anniversary, opens at the FleetCenter in Boston, Massachusetts, on September 3. |

cool - so I get to hear the new songs live before I own them.... |

I'm sure the new single - Don't Know How to Stop - will be released well before the album. They rehearsed it extensively last night in Toronto.... |

How does the single sound, what are some lyrics? |

Well, I wonder if this spells the end of releasing a brand new album in the future. I hope not, but it looks that way. If they put more than 4 new songs on this collection, they will never put out a new studio album. Just my opinion. |

Interesting price on the cdwow.com site - looks like the price of a typical 1cd set. This should help album sales! |
