So I watched this over the weekend, too bad the video and audio quality is so poor, there were some parts that could have been really, really good but overall it was basically just bad junkie home movies. Lots of needle scenes, not so much with Keith because obviously he was smart enough not to have himself filmed actually shooting up, but you know what's going on. The rumour is alot of it was staged and that's pretty obvious; junkies are really kind of boring - Keith and Bobby nodding out on the plane, Keith nodding out in the hotel, Keith nodding out backstage, and so on and so on. The scene with Bobby and Keith throwing the tv out the hotel window is pretty funny. They very carefully unbolt the tv from the stand and you can here Keith or maybe it's Bobby saying "Make sure no one is down there! How's this?? (holding up the tv) Tell us when!" ... pretty funny. Some stuff with Mick and a very young Bianca also that was pretty interesting.
This version also had a few promo performances for Goats Head and IORR that were interesting. I vaguely remember seeing them way back when; I think they used to show these things Saturday mornings on American Bandstand. Mick wearing LOTS of blue eyeshadow, Keith looking pretty vacant, Taylor staring at his feet, Bill just staring...and Charlie is priceless, watching Jagger and rolling his eyes.
If you are total Stones fanatic, this film is worth it, if just for the insanity it conveys about the band and the people around them back in the early '70's.
