If you think the Mick/Justin duet was outrageous, what will you say about that rendition of 'I Got You Babe' in the 1960s?

It seems like making a fool of oneself in public is a time-honoured showbiz tradition.
See Brian mug to the camera and yawn (!) when his partner takes the lead, then ram a huge sunflower in the tuba which Keith is playing! Yes, folks, Keith mimes playing the tuba... And Mick is there too, in a hideous frock, playing Beauty (or so I guess) to Andrew Loog Oldham's Beast (fur coat and oversize mitts for hands). Bill and Charlie even take a turn at waltzing together!
So, is this ridiculous? Yes, but screamingly funny too! Thanks to a fan site devoted to ALO's book 'Stoned', we can see this nugget of 60s mayhem.

I have that "I Got You Babe" joke on video. It was taken from the ground breaking British 60's music show, Ready Steady Go. Dave Clark bought the right to the show years ago and they started to show repeats about a decade ago. However, they were not proper episodes, just compliations and the Dave Clark 5 are in every episode.

Yes I recorded it off the Disney channel about 10 or so years ago |

I'm glad you enjoyed the "I Got You Babe" clip. I am the editor of Andrew Loog Oldham's autobiography "Stoned." My fan site on ALO has a lot of multi-media, plus excerpts from the book, interviews with ALO, lots of rare photos, videos, some original articles by me.
If you go to http://www.channeledbymodem.com/rsg.html you'll see a montage of 6 Ready Steady Go still-frames. Each one clicks through to a video. Please go on to Shindig and the TAMI show '64.
There's also a VIP room you enter by passing a Stones quiz with more video. Most of it by the way has been optimized for high-speed connections.
Be seeing you,
