Topic: Annoyed, confused & embarrassed Return to archive

Scottfree Annoyed: How do the Stones let others steal the show i.e. AC/DC.

Confused: How the fuck, are the guitars still low in the mix, who the hell decides on their mix? Do their sound people suck, or is it Mick and Keef that decide the blend?

Embarrassed: A fucking Backass boy shares the stage with....no,no,no say it isn't true. I'm damned glad I didn't attend, I would have bledgend someone.

***Well it all depends....maybe its just you. You just enjoyed AC/DC better***

Confused: How the fuck, are the guitars still low in the mix, who the hell decides on their mix? Do their sound people suck, or is it Mick and Keef that decide the blend?

***Does it matter? Of course we'd like to see, or should i say hear the guitars higher in the mix, but this topic has been discussed many times and theres nothing we can do.

What do you mean, "Does it Matter?" Shit. People pay top notch dollar to see the Stones. The least they can do is crank the guitars the fuck up.

But, ya know, the reason why they don't is because Ron and Keith would rather have Chuck louder than them because we all know Chuck IS THE ROLLING STONES.

Soul Survivor Boomy, I said "Does It Matter" because everyone bitched about the the guitars, and as of late it seems like no one has had anything good to say about the band.

Bluzian Well, you can argue it subjectively or objectively.

Subjectively: Having attended the SARS-STOCK myself, I was
more impressed with AC/DC. (their sound and audience support).
Angus' guitar is def. up in the mix, and it's what we all love
to hear. Unfortunately, RonWood's guitar solo's are always
downplayed (incase he f's up?) and Keiths playing is
standard. Which is disappointing at the very least most of
the time IMO.

Objectively: Anyone who came, went and conquered the SARS-STOCK
concert should be commended for their efforts and survival
skills. Sure, the Stones/ACDC were the excuse to get out to
Downsview, take the day off work and enjoy a midweek festival
setting. For $27, can we complain? Naah.. We were THERE!!!
Nothign we can do about the sound. Its a vicious circle.
But you can't expect to get perfect sound quality with
35 delay speaker towers in a park with 450,000 people!!!!
Dream on people.

My only "beef" is that I think the mainstage sound should
have been much louder to drown out any interference. The
wind/weather can play a tremendous role in the delivery of
a concert/sound. One minute you get perfect reception, the
next you have a twelve second delay in CharlieWatts drum
fill, and it almost sounds like he's an amatuer!! (?)

The concert was not the best by any stretch of the imagination,
but for the folks who couldnt attend, it was definately a
chance to be a part of and I'm sorry not all of you could
attend. I'm sure the dvd/cd release will do it more justice.
(and SFTD kicked ass!!!)

Cheers everyone.

PS: 23 more days until the Twickenham shows!! :-)
