Yes, a sad day. Bill Robinson, a Pirate (also played for the Yankees and Phillies) during the 70's, who was one of my childhood heros passed away. |

So did Tom Snyder & a couple of movie fellers. |

Wow, I did not hear about Tom Synder. I have not been on line much today. I started my new job at the lab today. I'll give it a few weeks before I have all my favorite sites pulled up. |

Thanks Bill Perks. He grew about two miles away from I did. He was a very good player that forgot about on a team with some great players. At least you remember.

One of the the great innovators and offensive minds the game has seen. His contribution is enormous. passing to set up the run, scripting plays, helping black assistants get a foothold in the league, quick drops/precise routes.

I am going to make a connection here. Bill Robinson grew up in Elizabeth PA. Almost directly across the river from a quaterback that Walsh coached. Any quesses? Don't think to hard about it.

Having been a lifelong 49'er's hater, my respect for Bill Walsh is huge.

Bill Robinson and Joe Montana grew up right across the river from each other. |
