stonedinaustralia as you may or may not recall i recently posted a query about the pharse in little T&A

well i dug up the lenny bruce reference i mentioned... this is from "The Essential Lenny Bruce", the chapter entitled "Performing and the Art of Comedy":

"...i'm going to do one bit (story) for you. It's a bit about a comedian, a comedian that thinks there's such a thing as a "class room", that rooms have identity. And he's got a manager, and the scene opens up in Sherman Oaks, California. The pool isn't in yet, but the patio's dry"

then continues the show - biz tale of this comedian and how he finally get's to play the London Palladium

as it doesn't appear that this phrase (or variations of it) has any vernacular meaning in the u.s. , i humbly venture to suggest that this may be the origin of keith's line... to corroborate i refer you to the "Encore" in Barbara Charone's biog. of kr where she asserts that "the most influential book (keith's) read is "How to Talk Dirty and Influence People" again by Lenny B. (if you didn't already know...

i feel like archimedes or something... after years (and i mean years) of absorbing the collected stones wisdom of all those who have come before (and in some cases after) me i may have discovered my own piece of stones arcana

i must admit, i always wondered what the hell he was talking about - notwithstanding that it just sounded good anyway

Miss U. You're funny, SIA.

>>>"How to Talk Dirty and Influence People" again by Lenny B. (if you didn't already know...<<<

Sounds like a good summer read.

Sir Stonesalot Ohmigod B! Go get that book and read it this instant, you little scamp! It's great! A true modern classic.

You better stop hanging about, taking pictures of Mick & the boys...and lock yourself away in the toilet till you get this book read! Jesusmarimba girl, get some priorities!

(The above post is completely tongue in cheek, and is the intellectual property of me.)
