I heard this song today, from finish radio q.
This channel plays exellent music, from african to indian
music,pop rock,heavy,everything what available,then end of
this year, they´ll shut it down(YLE finish tv/radio company)
But to the point,Let it loose, what an ex bloody fantastic
and totally forgotten song!!
They should play it.It would be easy to play, and keith and
ronnie can still handle the song. |

Agreed, this song made me go from a Stones fanatic to a flat out Stones whackjob. |

Agreed. Especially the line -
"She delivers right on time, I can't resist a corny line". |

Let It Loose (or, Let it Moose was it was called in the Moose thread) is a true beauty. A rare glimpse of the Stones' emotion and spirituality.
From lyricstime.com
Who’s that woman on your arm all dressed up to do you harm
And I’m hip to what she’ll do, give her just about a month or two.
Bit off more than I can chew and I knew what it was leading to,
Some things, well, I can’t refuse,
One of them, one of them the bedroom blues.
She delivers right on time, I can’t resist a corny line,
But take the shine right off you shoes,
Carryin’, carryin’ the bedroom blues.
Oo...
In the bar you’re getting drunk, I ain’t in love, I ain’t in luck.
Hide the switch and shut the light, let it all come down tonight.
Maybe your friends think I’m just a stranger,
Some face you’ll never see no more.
Let it all come down tonight.
Keep those tears hid out of sight, let it loose, let it all come down.

Awesome song indeed, but I disagree with your assertion that the current lineup can handle it. Mick is still capable, but he is capable of a good Sway performance and he blew that. Keith and Ron aren't even close to being able to play the subtleties of this masterpiece. Keith would just fill it up with Chuck Berry riffs and ruin it, I fear. |

True..Sway really sucked....It is somewhat embarrassing how Mick sings it (see Moonlight Mile from NS) and how he has to encourage RW to play the fills... |

I disagree.
theres very little guitar to this track. Musically its dominated by the Prestons keys and the Stax style horn arrangement.
obviously they can pull this off bc the 2 most dominate sounds on the tour are Chuck & the horns. It would be very similiar to when they do the Otis cover on the Licks tour like THSMLI |

Let it loose is one of my top three favorite Stones tunes. I put it right up there with gimme shelter and the ya ya's version of rambler. |

Special mention should go out to Keith's incredible background vocals during the end of the song |

Agreed. Mick sings his heart out on this one. And Charlie's backbeat is breathtaking. Could they still do it? I think so, but expecting it to sound like 1972 is just asking to be disappointed. Even given the boys' current limitations, though, Let It Loose is the sort of poignant masterpiece (like Memory Motel and even Fool to Cry) they should be featuring at this point in their career instead of the umpteenth billion recitation of Satisfaction or (much as I love it) JJF. |

Marko, what is up?
Unfortunately we'll never hear this track live at least on this tour. Room in the set list had to be made for the unforgettable Streets of Love. Ugh!
So I have to lay in a supply of white wine and Sprite when you visit next year?

BEST SONG THEY HAVE EVER RECORDED |
|
texile |
lazy bones -
i was going to mention that one line too...
in the beginning, its quiet and jagger comes in with that 'deliver' line and just unleashes something so pure and passionate throughout the rest of the song.
and that last chord right before those singers fade it out -
it's my favorite of all time.
and the lyrics - fucking masterpiece;
me and my friend - who isn't a stones fanatic but loves exile and especially 'loose -
love to dissect it and we've come to the conclusion that its the greatest falling in love song ever...
none of that moon in june shit but 'im in love and im scared shitless'
'hide the switch and shut the light'
you know, that feeling you had the first time you were really connected to someone?
you've gone too far and can't go back and you know you've already lost your soul to someone - and now THEY have you..
it's the scariest feeling in the world and jagger nails it.
this song is like nothing they've done before or since..
