Topic: Mysterious cover recording of "Lady Jane" Return to archive
July 21st, 2004 11:57 PM
piano-one Okay, so this question has probably already been asked a million times, but I am new to the list, so here goes...

I am looking for a particular artist or group that recorded a cover of "Lady Jane" back in the late 1960s or possibly as late as 1971 or 1972. This particular recording starts out with a very elaborate, almost Oriental introduction with complete orchestra, then settles down into the main melody. Vocals are done by a women's choir of several voices.

So the question is, is there a way to find out who has recorded their own versions of "Lady Jane"? Or does this particular recording sound familiar to anyone? Please let me know -- thanks!

Hey there! Wow, thanks for the fast response. I was able to check out a 30-second clip of Rotary Connection's recording, and I think that's the one -- pretty over the top. Thanks again for such a fast and informative response!
