UGot2Rollme Just checked out 2 videos I'd never seen before, courtesy of rollingstones.com:

Hey Negrita-Mick is wearing a lime green outfit that crosses between clown and spanish matador on acid, waving a fan while lip synching - ends with a somewhat dirty dancing routine with Mick andBilly.. very campy and fun

Crazy Mama - balls out rock and roll (again lip syched) fun to see initial interplay between Mick and Ronnie.. at one point towards end Mick pushes him out of the way so he can be with Keith, but then beckons him back over as if to say I'm sorry, new kid..

anyway, fun way to pass idle time on a lazy saturday afternoon... has anyone else seen these?

Gazza yeah theyre quite funny in a "kitsch"-y sort of way. They also did videos for "Hot Stuff" and "Fool To Cry" at the same time - they filmed them all on the stage in Munster, Germany in April '76 just a few hours before they played a show there that night.

Mick's lip synching on "Crazy Mama" is quite awful though on a couple of occasions!

Monkey Woman "between clown and spanish matador on acid"! Too funny!

Yes, the 5 DVD video compilation is great stuff!

Soldatti I only saw "Fool To Cry" and "Hot Stuff" on MTV Argentina, both are on the same place but Hot Stuff is very good, at least is better than Don't Stop!!!

Gazza The last 2 Stones videos to date were the live "Gimme Shelter" from "No Security" and that one for "Don't Stop"

Unquestionably by some distance the most hideous videos ever associated with the band and up there as two of the crappiest promo videos of all time by anyone.

I know that promo videos aren't exactly Citizen Kane when it comes to artistic endeavour, but the Stones have traditionally put their name to pretty decent ones down the years (and in some cases, downright innovative and groundbreaking ones)

But those two were so earth shatteringly bad that I had to watch both of them crouched behind the sofa in embarrassment

Gazza There was indeed - that was pretty good. Wouldnt have been shown much in Europe though I'd imagine.

They filmed it in Cleveland during the '94 tour, it's quite a nice video.

Soldatti The video for Out Of Tears was very nice. The song was edited and missed some of the best moments of the song.
For me all the 90's videos for the Stones were very good: from Almost Hear You Sigh to Saint Of Me, all great videos.
Mick did good videos from his Wandering Spirit album and Keith did Wicked As It Seems that had a lot of airplay on MTV here. It was black and white and very dark.
Mick did 2 great videos for Goddess In The Doorway, better videos than songs for me!

MRD8 I believe their last video wasn't for Don't Stop...its for the Neptunes remix of Sympathy For The Devil...filmed in a desert someplace it was on the 2DVD PAL set from Europe last year...I offered a B&P of the 5DVD set of video's on here a couple of months ago but got very few takers...

Gazza ah yes..I forgot they'd re-released "Sympathy".

Not at all. Haven't seen it in a while, but from what I remember some crazy story with the devil in it - but no red tails and horns - and footage of Mick & Keith from the Rock 'n' Roll Circus playing on a videowall in a strip house??! Hope I remember this right
July 19th, 2004 04:34 PM
MRD8 Yep, good memory! In terms of lameness it was right up there with Don't Stop...
July 19th, 2004 04:38 PM
jb One Hit was as gay as it gets....
July 19th, 2004 04:50 PM

The clothes that the band used was stolen from Micheal Bolton and Metallica, I thought!

corgi37 Wasnt Dont Stop made by a Swedish company? Well, its just lucky they started the whole professional porn era, via color climax, Private, Rodox - otherwise, DOnt Stop is reason to declare Sweden has WMD and we all invade them.

beer Gazza's right, the Silver Train video was about as gay is it gets, besides Jagger and Bowies Dancin In the Streets of course. But at least the Silver Train vid was a cool song, even if Keef is wearin girly make up.
