moy Stones star to play Bill baddie

Jul 15 2004

Leigh Norton, icReporter

Rock legend Ronnie Wood is to appear as a baddie in ITV1's long-running cop series, The Bill.

The Rolling Stone guitarist is a good pal of Bill stalwart Jeff Stuart, 48, who plays eccentric PC Reg Hollis.

Ronnie, 57, made a secret visit to the studios recently to meet the cast and crew.

Show producers had planned to offer the ageing rocker a walk-on part that day but he arrived too late.

But they are still keen for him to make a guest appearance as a crook.

The one-time alcoholic said: The Bill is one my favourite shows and Id love to have a bit part.

Its a question of fitting it in with my real job.

A show insider revealed: We were bowled over to see him on our set.

Were coming up with a part for him.

Stars who have had cameo roles in the show include Ex-Spice girl Emma Bunton and Who star Roger Daltrey.

What a shit way to call him, first it sounds aggresive and contemptuous; second alcoholism is an incurable diseases so if he is one he will be one even if he does not take a drink for the rest of his life.

Third... he is or will be back in rehab
