Fourchette is a place near the little town of Poc-sur-Cisse, not far from the well-known Renaissance castle of Amboise. The closest city is Tours, and then Blois and Orlans, all on the Loire river.

Jacques Hi
pics were done between 1999 and 2001.
Here is a map (I'm not sure MW link works, sorry MW)

Lavendar ???? Loire River seems to be very large. Many branches and one main river? Loire? Micks castle reminds me of Cinderella. ^_^ So now the history of Fourchette? Just interested
July 18th, 2004 03:12 PM
Monkey Woman The river in itself is not very large if you compare it to the Mississippi or Amazon, but it flows in a wide alluvial valley, wich it sometimes floods! It can be catastrophic for the inhabitants of nearby towns. The Loire is the bigger river in France. The valley is very green and fertile but it's also interesting for the historical places: old towns, castles, churches, etc. There are a lot of pretty Renaissance castles in which you can dream about Cinderella and other legends!

This was the daily geography lesson and tourism board message. Thank you ladies and gentlemen, please don't forget the guide!
