Buyers of Rolling Stones tickets beware
Jul 27 2005 12:04 PM CBC News
Moncton RCMP are telling Rolling Stones fans who still want to buy tickets to the upcoming Labour Day show at Magnetic Hill to be careful where they buy them.
A tip led police on a raid at a home in Berry Mills that turned up a template for printing phony tickets. They also found fake tickets and counterfeit money.
"Word to the wise out there: make sure you know the source you're purchasing from," said Community Service Director Ian Fowler.
Constable Michel Mercier said that the fake tickets are smoother, thinner and the ink isn't as dark. Real tickets are also printed on special paper, he said. "The quality of the tickets are very, very poor," said Constable Mercier. "Any person being a bit alert should be able to detect that it is a counterfeit." |
