Neil Young Names Next Album
by Paul Cashmere
24 July 2005
Neil Young's follow-up to 'Greendale' will be called 'Prairie Wind'.
Young recorded the album earlier this year in Nashville and was midway through the recording when he was rushed to hospital for brain surgery following the discovery of an aneurysm.
Word of the new album surfaced via a personal message at his official website this weekend.
The message from Neil reads "Hi folks, my greatest hits vinyl is out now and I'm really proud of it. It actually sounds better than the original pressing. 'Prairie Wind' is coming in a CD/DVD September 20. The DVD shows us recording the whole record. Every note you hear you see".
The good news for fans is that the long awaited Archive album may also surface soon. Young has been promising the work for more than two decades. His message also stated "Hope you enjoy that one. Archives Volume 1 will follow. Thanks for your letters and words".

Well, if this is all straight from the horse's mouth, then my night has just been made. But then, Neil's always been known to go back on his word. Let's consider all of the albums he's promised over the years that haven't come out. Neil and the Horse Live in 1970, Homegrown, Chrome Dreams, Old Ways 1, Times Square, etc.
But oh, well. I still love the guy.
