It's ironic that a rock band which the media and many people in general love to bag and say they're too old for this rock n roll lark, - are at the forefront of technology when it comes to presenting their music. Sure money is the main reason behind this latest idea but but there is no denying that the Stones are ahead of musicians half their age when it comes to establishing new ways of entertaining the masses:

Rolling Stones Phone In Concert
by Tim Cashmere
July 28 2006
In a bizarre moment of technological oddities, The Rolling Stones will be performing their European tour down the phone to America for $1.99 per seven minutes.
They will be the first band to use the Listen Live Now technology, which allows concerts to be streamed live across the world, through a telephone.
After six minutes, listeners will hear a voice saying their time is almost up.
A full two hour concert at this price would cost approximately $34, which is much cheaper than seeing the band live… although you’re listening to it through a phone.
The technology premiers with their Paris concert from 3.45pm to 5.45pm ET today (Friday 28 July).
You can hear it by dialing the toll free number (which then charges you), 1-877-784-2777.
