HONG KONG (AFP) - Rock legends, the Rolling Stones, are finally set to perform in Hong Kong in November, after being to forced to cancel two earlier concerts in March following the outbreak of SARS
The rockers will sign a deal this week to play in front of 45,000 fans at the Hong Kong stadium on either November 8 or 15, the Sunday Morning Post reported.

Concert organisers had secured rare approval to use the stadium, which has attracted frequent controversy over noise concerns, allowing for lower ticket prices with the cheapest going for 200 Hong Kong dollars (about 26 US), the Post said citing an unnamed source.

If the deal is signed this week, it would be the latest boost to Hong Kong's attempt to rebound from the economically-devastating Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak.

The Rolling Stones would follow football giants Liverpool and Real Madrid, in addition to China's NBA basketball star Yao Ming, as the recent big-name attractions performing in the city as part of the government's bid to revive the economy.

The Stones had cancelled two earlier concerts scheduled for March 28 and 29 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre after the outbreak of SARS in mid-March, leaving some 16,000 fans who had snapped up tickets disappointed.

SARS killed 297 people and infected nearly 1,800 in Hong Kong before being contained in late June.

Get Your Yao Yao Mings Out!! LOL.
