DNA evidence is no stranger in the modern courtroom. To make their cases, lawyers have used blood and semen samples. They have used fingernails, skin and saliva. They even have used dog hair.
And soon the list will include dope.
Forensic scientists have been working to expand the scope of scientific evidence by researching how to use DNA technology to identify strains of marijuana, and then putting the information into a database.
"Marijuana DNA is just a new technology in fighting crime ... Many times the victim's pocket will have a trace of marijuana ... [and you can] find where that batch comes from," said Dr. Henry Lee, director of the Connecticut State Police Forensic Science Laboratory and one of the nation's foremost forensic scientist. "This is going to have a major impact for the future."

I mean come on, how many people get strung out on chiba and commit mass murder??
"We found a scrap of chiba in the perpetrator's pocket with a DNA structure similar to that of a rabid leopard and well feel that he is a danger to the community"

The whole thing is just so idiotic. I don't know anyone who gets violent after smoking chiba. I guess they can't DNA alcohol, crank, crack, coke, and other major drugs that criminals are usually on while commiting crimes. |

Mayor's wife, Carlita Kilpatrick, to co-host radio show at controversial Hedonism III spa

DETROIT -- Carlita Kilpatrick, wife of Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, is to take part in a seven-day jaunt to Jamaica, where guests will hole up in a resort that boasts a 20-person nude jacuzzi, a nude beach and the Octopussy Disco, according to radio station WMXD (92.3-FM).
The adult urban radio station is hosting the fall "flight to Jamaica" at Hedonism III in Runaway Bay, Jamaica, Oct. 12-19. The 18-and-over resort, the third of its kind on the Caribbean island, touts itself on its Web site as a place where clothing is optional.
"We have her scheduled to co-host (disc jockey) Frankie Darcell's entire week, Oct. 12, flying back on that Saturday," said Bekki Yang, promotions director for WMXD. "Frankie's known for doing her talk of the town (show), and definitely having the first lady being involved, someone of that nature to travel along with us made it more appealing."
Promotions for the trip began airing on the radio station this month, along with the station's Web site. It promises participants an "exclusive, once in a lifetime opportunity to party with Mix 92.3, First Lady Carlita Kilpatrick, and (a) national recording artist!" the site reads. "It's all part of Mix 92.3's Jamaica Jamboree, Saturday night ... inside Hedonism III's luxurious terrace!"
Events listed include a Sunday night welcome party, a Thursday wedding vow renewal and a piano happy hour.
Yang said despite the worldwide reputation for nudity for the other Hedonism resorts -- I and II -- that Hedonism III has, "got an older, not as wild crowd as the other two resorts would attract." She also noted that nude bathing and lounging are in designated areas of the sprawling, 4-year-old hotel.
The station is covering the $1,500 cost of Carlita Kilpatrick's travels, Yang said.
Carlita Kilpatrick did not return calls seeking comment. Jamaine Dickens, the mayor's press secretary, said the mayor would not be attending.
"The mayor is not going to Jamaica," Dickens said.
He referred further questions to Andrea Carroll, Carlita Kilpatrick's best friend who is in charge of first lady affairs with an office in City Hall. Carroll, who said she would attempt to reach Carlita Kilpatrick and call back with responses, did not call back.

WTF?
Hedo 3 is the wildest of the 2 Hedo resorts(there is no Hedo #1). They got swim in rooms(yes the main pool is actually IN your room), a waterslide that goes through the dance floor of the disco(the dance floor is see-through, and looks down on an indoor pool). They offer a toga class, have "underwear" night at the disco(you don't get in unless you are in your underwear), drinks are free, and Jamacian weed is brought in by the bale!
