Topic: Springsteen to headline MTV awards Return to archive

Ephrata Stone Saw a little blurb on CNN Headline News last night that Bruce has agreed to play the MTV awards coming up. I know there was hopeful talk that the Stones might show up and play, but now that Bruce has officially announced the appearance, do you think that the Stones won't bother?

Are the awards big enough for the Boss and the Stones?? I hope so! What does everyone think?

Lazy Bones I don't have to say that both are huge acts for the awards. It would be fantastic, though. If Dylan, adds his name, Gazza will be on the warpath of excitment..lol!

Gazza The Stones AND Bruce BOTH played live at the 1994 awards at Radio City Music Hall so I dont see why they both couldnt do it this time too

As Bruce is on tour at the time (hes in San Jose,CA on 27th August and then St Louis on 30th August) I'd imagine his performance will be relayed via satellite and not actually AT the awards itself.

As I said in an earlier thread,I wouldnt be surprised to see the Stones play the show,as its perfectly timed for them..just before the tour - and at that time they'll be on the east coast anyway. They'll steal it if they do,of course....

Stonesmillenium2001 The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen could blow Eminem off the stage.

Sir Stonesalot Of course, Elton John could just blow Eminem....

Boomhauer Um, I'll supply the beer. Gonna have to get drunk to even care about thinking about anything to do with Eminem (it seems like his 15 minutes of fame should be up by now; I think he's around 13 min 39 sec.).

On June 16, 2001 the hit counter of the WET page was inserted here, it had 174,489 hits. Now the hit counter is for both the page and the board. The hit counter of the ITW board had 1,127,645 hits when it was closed and the Coolboard didn't have hit counter but was on line only two months and a half.
