gotdablouse Charlie hasn't been mixed upfront like this since...er Dirty Work I guess, on both SOL and RJ the drums really kick ass and are given a big thumping sound. Way to go guys ! The lame VL productions tricks are gone !

JaggerLips Think Charlie has still got what it takes to rock!
GO CHARLIE!

I love it when they focus more on the drums, it makes tracks more punchier and in my eyes better.

What's the point in having a drummer like Charlie Watts when you can hardly hear them?

Ten Thousand Motels Charlie's ALWAYS "good". That goes without saying of course but sometimes when one is consistently "good" it gets taken for granted....which is not always a good thing.

Aren't we taking the rest of them (Mick, Keith and Ronnie) for granted these days too?

WE EXPECT TOO MUCH OF THEM ALL THESE DAYS.

FPM C10 Valid point. SS and I were just talking about that last night. I said no matter what the merits of the new songs, Charlie is great in all of them, and SS said "well, that's a given."

Charlie is a zen master, my favorite drummer of all time. I can't wait to go cheer for him this tour.

"On the drums, Cholly Watts!"

YAYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WHOOOOOO!!!!!!!CHAR-LIE!!!!CHAR-LIE!!!!!CHAR-LIE!!!!! etc.

Well I don't know about that. LOL. I don't think one album of new songs in 8 years is too much to ask.

gotdablouse Listened to RJ at full throttle tonight and yes Charlie steals that song, NO ONE else has that kind of drive !

By the way I wonder who's on bass, certainly doesn't sound like Darryl "the snooze" Jones, could it be Mick's first public outing on that instrument ?!

I totally agree about Voodoo Lounge. He really shines on Sparks Will Fly.
