Nellcote Let's see the band go on Leno/Letterman and trash them up the arse with this "they are too old" crap those losers have been slinging at the boys for years. That will be ROUGH JUSTICE!!!
Put this mutha on the power rotation.....
Slide is like YGMR only faster..

1.Well, I hate say it but................................................"Rough Justice", actually
has an Exile on Main Street sound. It really does.

2. Streets of Love is OK. I think it may fill nicely on the album but it is not
my cup of tea as a single.

*There is something about those two songs. There is something to it. I
can't explain it but there is a little "hate" involved there. As in I want to
hate SOL and again just a touch in Rough Justice. This surely brings
up a ? in my head. The only other time I had that happen with a Stones album was Exile on Main Street. So this album got something, I don't know what but it got something.

Poplar ROCK'N. no doubt.
it even has that "boom, boom boom..." bass kick from Charlie (yes, faintly a la exile). the lyrics are pedestrian at times ("you know i'll never break your heart?") but it kicks ass. genuine rocker with much stones appeal.

Nellcote The Canadian station, when playing RJ today, clearly noted the disc was to be called Neocon...anyone hear anything different?
July 22nd, 2005 07:20 AM
FotiniD Woo, what happened to all the "is the album going to be like that" wonderings

Hate to say I told you so. I think now we're cooking
I really like the start of it very, very much. Sounds definitely raw. Good one.
July 22nd, 2005 07:25 AM
Moonisup I still won't think it will be a killer album to be honest

Well, if even half of the songs follow the example of "Rough Justice" I think we got nothing to worry about.
July 22nd, 2005 07:36 AM
IanBillen Well we know "Oh No Not you Again" and "Rough Justice" are rocking Stones.
RAW. "Streets of Love" may fit in nicely on the album.

But look at The two rockers we heard. Imagine hearing both of those rockers and some others them on the same day for the first time. That is how you got to look at it. Promising isn't it.

Nellcote So, we've got three tunes now, I read where there are 18 that were recorded. Wonder which will make the cut?
Just put out a double disc, reward us for the 8 years of waiting...
I kind of exepected a "Streets" like cut, as Jagger likes to appeal to different music formats. Look at Fool To Cry, Emotional Rescue, Waiting On A Friend, Anybody Seen My Baby, Almost Hear You Sigh, now Streets of Love, it ties together...
So, they get airplay (HA HA) on MOR format with Streets and Rock with RJ format, not a bad thing..
BRING ON FENWAY....
Remind me, someone give me a cell # to call from the show, I'll report in...

Monkey Woman cool: Three songs now! OMG, "Rough Justice" is playing right now on the comp' player, and it's raw indeed! Too old, the Stones? Eat your hearts out, naysayers and lame comics! They are as old as storms, thunder and volcanos! If this is old age, I can't wait!

Oh yeah, let them have that warbling mummy. But wouldn't that be considered cruel and unusual, or contrary to the Geneva convention or something?

scratched Rough Justice:

I can't stop listening to it!

Some points of note!:

0.00 - A monster boogie-distort-o-riff. Is that Keith doing the Black Crowes doing Keith?

0.06 - Mmmmm...tasty bass riff!

0.10 - Charlie!

0.25 - The 'little rooster' reference.

0.30 - Chorus within the first 30 seconds (nearly). Possibly a single then?

2.40 - Is that Chuck I can hear straining to be heard over the gushing waves of soothing fuzz-tone? I thought so!
