Topic: 40X40: The year by year header marathon - Part 1: The 60s Return to archive

We posted a 1962 photo as header the day of the 40th anniversary, now we're going to post one header for each year, except 1963 with two as the stage line-up changed as Stu was sent to the back, out of the public sight that year, so we selected two pix for this year, one with Stu and one without him.

Honky Tonk Man Thanks Voodoo!! Great concert photo. Im guessing that must date from summer of late 63. Arouind the time "Come On" or "I Wanna Be Your Man" was released.

Ahh, they got those waist coat uniforms on!!

Three shots from 1964, only one as header, it was a hard decision

1969

1969 was the hardest choice, first there's a lot, second it has two line-ups, one with Brian Jones and one with Mick Taylor. I have posted really nice shots of the 1969 USA tour, but this was the final header:

1970

1970... it was also hard to select only one, my favourite is the one by Henry Diltz with Stephen Stills on Piano as a improvized guest, he was there for other reason and Mick invited him to play Dead Flowers at the very same moment! Leon Russel was also a guest that day as he played Live with Me. The photo can bee seen at both Henry's website and our setlists page for 1970. However I selected this stand still as Stu is there! BTW, that's one of the only clips in which you can hear Stu talking:

On June 16, 2001 the hit counter of the WET page was inserted here, it had 174,489 hits. Now the hit counter is for both the page and the board. The hit counter of the ITW board had 1,127,645 hits when it was closed and the Coolboard didn't have hit counter but was on line only two months and a half.
