Topic: A few fine lines from Chuck ! Return to archive

Jair As some of you already know, Chuck is a friend for years. Today he droped me a few lines about European concerts and...KEITH and..new USA dates???
I'm pasting some info below:

(...) We’re all doing fine in Europe...Keith is back to his old self and we’re kickin’ ass! We play our fifth show here tonight....in Berlin...then go to Cologne tomorrow. About six more weeks to go on this part of the tour, and then we may even go back to the US in the fall. If I had my way, we’d be coming back to South America in January! Stay tuned.....best, Chuck

For all that I know about music, I have nothing to say against Chuck...Actually i think hes doing a great job with the guys...Of course, if was possible, I'd put Nicky Hopkins in his place, but...

On the other side, I'm not exactly a Ian McLagan fan. A local musician, friend of mine, had the chance to play some times with Ian in Los Angeles a few years back and he told Ian is not so cool...Well, I can't say but, this opinion, coming from a musician, deserve some respect, I guess...

Nellcote We should flood Chuck with requests for She Was Hot.
He's the pipeline to Mick.
This must be played!

Agreed. And Chuck put a bug in Mick's ear. If you play enough "rare" live tunes that will at least give Mick something new to put out on the live albul he will insist on releasing. If they released a live album with Sway, Hot, Tears In Italian, the ABB songs....I will buy that. I'm not spending money on the standards though.

gimmekeef Nellcote is right..Mick trusts Chucks understanding of arrangements and how songs should be played etc. This tour he's mixed in with the band not over the top..and we IMHO get a better Stones sound...

Jair Well, I just sent some lines back to Chuck, doing a mention to She weas Hot.
Lets see what happens?

Man, if they play it, you all owe me this one, deal?
