Just a thought because if you have watched The Filth and The Fury, it does mention that God Save the Queen was the number 1 single in the UK but the newspapers and radio refused to acknowledge the song.

She became Queen on the death of her father George (insert roman numeral here) in 1952 and celebrated her silver jubilee in 1977 (which the Pistols celebrated by releasing God Save the Queen).
