Soldatti Neptunes, Fatboy Slim Remix The Stones

A series of remixes of the Rolling Stones' 1968 classic "Sympathy for the Devil" will be serviced
to international radio Monday (July 21), ahead of a Sept. 1 commercial single release, Billboard Bulletin reports. The new mixes, commissioned by ABKCO and distributed by Mercury/Universal, are by the Neptunes, Fatboy Slim and Full Phatt. All are in radio-edit and full-length versions.

The mixes are timed to hit international radio as the Stones continue the European leg of their Licks tour. A video for one of the mixes (to be determined) will incorporate material from Jean-Luc Godard's film "One Plus One," which features the Stones playing the original "Sympathy" at London's Olympic Studio.

Bulletin understands that the selected mix will be added to new copies of the Stones' "40 Licks" hits package (Virgin). Originally released on the Stones' "Beggars Banquet" album, "Sympathy for the Devil" was never issued as a single in the U.S.

The Stones play the first of three nights in Stockholm Friday. The group will headline the Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto benefit concert July 30 at the city's Downsview Park.
