For the week of 6/30-7/6, Forty Licks sold 5,500 copies in the States and from Today until Sunday spend the week 40 at #181 in the Billboard 200. |

Very unimpressive. |

Does anybody know how many weeks did "40 Licks" stay in the top positions?
Thanks in advance! |

Never made it to #1 b/c of stupid ass Cohl/Virgin releasing it the same week as Fat Elvis' #1's...reached #2 for one week and remained in top 40 for over a month....only about 2.0 million in US sales (but b/c it's a double disc it it considered 4 million in sales) and a huge disappointement in my book...we lso lost in tour revenue to Macca last year and are way behind the wig wearing Elton and fat, bald headed Billy Joel this year...our overall attendance is down and one has to question the viability of any future tours considering our poor showing...): |

JB:
The album sold very well worldwide. By the end of 2002 the EMI report said what the Stones "Forty Licks" sold 5.5 millions worldwide with shipments over 6 millions. The album was the EMI 3rd best selling album of 2002 behind Norah Jones (12m) and Coldplay (6m). It tops the charts in 11 countries (including the Eurochart and Japan) and reaches Top 10 in others 12.
In U.S the album is the longest chart running since "Tattoo You" and has sold over 2.5 millions (soon will be re-certified 5x Platinum or 6x Platinum).
This are their weeks in the States to now in the Billboard 200:
2-3-4-9-14-20-22-27-30-23-25-21-20-16-17-17-18-30-44-47-60-70-81-87-95-96-98-104-112-136-132-139-139-159-163-161-120-161-166-181
By last, don't forget what the album is double and name me one double CD released in the last years with sales over 3 millions worldwide.

For a greatest hits album that was released 10 months ago with a tour that's been out of the US since February - imo, I wouldn't consider that unimpressive.

LB-in all candor, the album, a collection of the greatest rock-n-roll songs by the greatest rock-n-roll band of all time, should have easily exceeded 10 million...yet it has only sold 2.5 million in the USA(which b/c it's a double disc counts as 5 million). Even a Beatles fan like you should realize that this album and tour grosses have been less than impressive. |

I lost upwards of a thousand in revenue to the Stones and nothing to McCartney.
I dont think Cohl had anything to do with the Stones release date.
2 1/2 million is impressive any way you slice it.
I am sure Mick, Keith, Charlie, Ronnie and Michael Cohl are very impressed when they look at their paychecks for this tour. |

Eminem has sold over 8 million of his latest-nough said! |

Actually, Josh, I and everyone here (there and everywhere) are well-aware of the fact that the album and tour have been unimpressive to you - as a non-Beatles fan. |

Will you be attending the Toronto show? If so, do me a favor and lead a wave during the Justin Timberlake segment...if you get lucky, he may just do an "En Sync" medley as an encore!!!!!!!

Keep posting your shit and maybe Justin will go down on you backwards blow job. Hell, he likely wouldn't know the diff. between you and B.S. as you're likely similar proportions. What with your use of Vagisil and all. |
