Gazza Thanks, Mary. I'll be out for a few hours but between us we'll keep things updated.

Sweltering hot in Bucharest, over 35 degrees, very young audience and a 60,000 sell out from what I've heard so far.

Well, there's a 7-hour time difference between New York and Bucharest, so it's about 9:08pm (21:08) there now...

Iris was supposed to go on around 6:00pm (18:00), followed by The Charlatans, so I'm guessing the Stones should be hitting the stage within the next half-hour or so.

you must understand that we in the US understand your pain and frustration with the poor choice of venues and setlists in Europe as we experienced this first hand last year after a promising start to the tour.

I can sense your frustration and wish you a pleasant evening.

According to Lorenz, our man on the scene: "Best gig I've ever seen!"

LadyJane "Best gig I've ever seen"

I never tire of reading that.

voodoopug I can already see the reviews:

"After what I read, I was a bit concerned to what I would see from Keith. He had a bit of trouble early on with "Rough Justice" but then hit his stride in YCAGWYW, playing as fierce as he has since the 73 tour of Europe! Ronnie was spot on and played a solo identical to the way he did in 1976. Charlie was spot on and Mick was, well he was Mick. The crowd was very young and energetic and the stones responded by playing these 18 songs as if their lives depended on it. Lisa stole the show with her solo in "I'll go Crazy". At this pace they will keep rocking forever! This is the best the band has ever performed. Keith even rememebered most of the words during his set and his solo in TD was better than anything I have ever seen"

albert Hi Pug,

the frustration part is all yours!! Poor venues (?): beautiful city parcs and Slane castle to come!! Young enthousiastic crowds, no seating but dancing!!
No castles in USA or Chicago I think??

No my friend: no frustration here!! We love The Stones!! (end of discussion...........) Nice warm evening here; hope so too in Romania!!

Sadly, no castles in Chicago. I have never been a big fan of the Chicago architecture either. Far too much of the city is inconvenient to drive to due to never ending construction and there are just too many parts of the city unsafe to walk in at night, crime is very high. This is why I choose to live in the suburbs where the lots and homes are bigger and more accessible.

Have a fine evening my friend!

Thru and Thru Since I've been lurking here for every show during this European tour I've finally decided to register. I think it's totally awesome for the Stones to play in Bucharest, I bet everyone at this show will so totally appreciate every note played without any reservations. No whining over the setlist, missed notes, etc., unlike us here.

Sounds like a great show so far even though it might turn into an 18-song show. We'll see...
17th July 2007 03:32 PM
GotToRollMe 9. You Got The Silver
10. Wanna Hold You

That's odd...Keith's songs are usually at 10 and 11, no?
Guess that's because they got YCAGWYW and Rambler. Not a bad trade-off!
