Factory Girl Patti is great! The poetry bit drags on a bit. But, she is a true rocker. I hope that she covers "paint It Black" and "Keep On Rocking in the Free World." Please post a review.

F505 Just returned from Brugge
To start my short review: it is always special to go to a concert on Belgian soil if only because one of the best Stones boots ever was recorded in Belgium: Brussels Affair.
Although it slightly rained the crowd in the Minnewaterpark in Brugge was eager to see Patti.
When she and the band came on stage at 22.30 it was dry and it remained dry! The sound was excellent: crystal-clear. Actually I never heard it much better elsewhere.
Patti (jeans, black blazer, white T-shirt with peace sign) kicked off with a beautiful version of the piano-backed spiritual Trampin'. After this I had my first moments of shiver: Lenny Kaye played the first notes of Jubilee and instantly the house was rocking. The third song was a great version of a hard rocking Stride Of The Mind (a hell of a riff: even Keith should bow for this riff). Patty's voice was incredibly strong and powerful maybe better than ever before.
The setlist concluded many songs from Trampin' : Peacable Kingdom, Mother Rose, Cash and Gandhi (more powerfull than the album version). One of the highlights of the evening was Beneath The Southern Cross: Lenny Kaye, Oliver Ray and Patti on acoustic guitars working towards a passionated climax. That song (one of my all time favorites) really made my flesh creep. Other legendary songs were played such as Because The Night, Dancing Barefoot, Pissing In A River (awesome), 25th Floor, Free Money (great version), People Have The Power and Gloria as a hard rocking encore. That song got an ecstatic reception but unfortunately it was closing (festival!) time and although the crowd went mad Patti didn't return. I once more realised Patti is one of the last true rock 'n roll artists. She still has it after 57 years: the power, the passion, the fire and a tight band to back her up.

So Moonisup and all others who haven't seen Patti: if you get the chance to see her perform live by all means do it. Treat yourself and enjoy some of the best rock 'n roll ever made. UGotToRollme and Gazza have a lot of fun in Zurich and Belfast, I am sure you will!

By the way: much better live recordings than the ones on Land (imo) you'll find on boots: Dead City (Live at the Bowery Ballroom NY, feb 10 2000) for example is a great one... The strange fact is there are hardly legal live recordings from Patti. She should release a double live cd!
