In todays Toronto Star there is a picture of Mick arriving at Terminal 3 in Toronto yesterday.

There was word from some sources that Mick and Keith were in Toronto on the weekend. I spent a good part of Sunday around the Four Seasons and a rumoured rehearsal location with no sign. At one point we returned to the (rumoured) rehearsal location to find a Town Car and mini van parked out front. Last night I received word that they had been in town while we were there and very well could have been them. Hit and miss...waiting for a hit. |

Stones take to bikes for rolling around T.O.
By Betsy Powell
ENTERTAINMENT REPORTER
Book transportation. Rent homes,
preferably monster-sized in the Bridle
Path or Rosedale. Co-ordinate security.
Buy bikes.
It's only rock 'n' roll, but Rolling Stones'
logistics manager Alan Dunn is busy
these days making sure Mick Jagger,
who arrived yesterday, Keith Richards,
Charlie Watts and Ron Wood are fit, fed
and luxuriously quartered during their
extended stay here.
The Stones are again rehearsing in
Toronto before embarking on another
world tour that will find them playing
rock clubs, arenas and stadiums.
The as-yet unnamed tour, which kicks
off in Boston Sept. 5, stops at the Air
Canada Centre Oct. 16 and SkyDome
Oct. 18.
In addition to accommodations and booking rental cars for the group of 50,
which includes personal cooks, fitness trainers, choreographers and voice
coaches, Dunn had another task: buying bikes for the band "for exercise while
they're here."
Dunn found a receptive seller at Cycle Solutions on Parliament St. "they
couldn't have been more helpful" and picked up the two-wheelers, including
one for himself, last week.
But don't bother looking for the Stones steering their new mountain bikes
through the city's downtown core.
"Too much traffic," says Dunn, an avid cyclist.
Jagger, 58, a fitness fanatic known for his dexterity on stage, Richards, 58,
Watts, 60 and Wood, 54, are much likelier to be found riding on quiet
residential streets and quite possibly in cottage country on the weekends.
"We go to different places, work Monday to Friday and then take off on a
Saturday, put the bikes in a van and go off. We're normal people, you know?"
And yes, they all wear helmets.
The veteran rockers are no strangers to Toronto, home to tour promoter
Michael Cohl.
The band set up shop in Crescent School on Bayview in 1994 as they
rehearsed for their Voodoo Lounge tour.
They returned again in 1997 to prepare for the Bridges to Babylon tour at the
Concert Hall on Yonge St. That venue, now home to CTV's Mike Bullard
Show, is no longer available.
Dunn won't say where the band will jam, but "it will come out, it always does,
you get followed." |

Yes. Key word - was. |

In the Star it says that the Masonic Temple that the Stones used in 97 is no longer available as this is where the Mike Bullard show is filmed. |

That's right. Due to conflict (Open Mike or otherwise!), they've had to make changes. The question is, where might you find a lot of bike racks? |

No shit. I can see Charlie now! Little basket on the front with clothing he's just bought. Ronnie, of course, would be doubling Keith. Gotta watch out for them streetcars, though. |
