The Four Tops have been goin' since 1955 - and with the same line up until one of them popped his clogs a couple of years back! Maybe the Blind Boys of Alabama have been going longer!

Anyway...sorry to be a pedantic ol' bastard on this day. Wore my Shepherds bush '99 t-shirt into work today as a "commemoration"....

Four fuckin decades! I guess we all got lucky when we picked THIS band to follow when we were kids. No "here today gone tomorrow" shit like nearly everyone else ended up with.

Well done "boys"!

If it wasnt for The Rolling Stones coming into my life,I'd probably by now be approaching 40 and be a really cynical bastard, married, not have much money, playing golf in my spare time and spending far too much time dicking around on the internet than is healthy...

...er....wait a minute.......

SweetBlackAngel Let's hear it for The Boys! Can ya dig it?

TheSavageYoungXyzzy I think Alex said it all -

"RONNIE TURNS ME ON!!!!!"

Well, wait a minute. No he doesn't. Not at all.

Nevermind.

Happy 40th, youngsters!

(I hear the Stones will do the entire album of "H.M.S. Pinafore" at Roseland... from my sources)

-tSYX --- Declaring Rolling Stones State Of Mind Worldwide - go forth, get drunk/stoned/a combination of the two, write good music, sing good music, dance around, deploy inflatable phallus.

I took your advice annd spent the entire day in the company of a "needle and a spoon" and with a giant Mars bar close at hand just in case...does that count?

Maxlugar Happy 40th Rolling Stones!

I am so happy I am your fan!

I have spent the whole day drinking a listening to your great tunes!

My wife and mother inlaw went out for the day and I'm having a great time doing Rum shots and drinking Heineken!

I think I have a problem.....

I'm addicted to The Drive!

That's not a problem at all really!

"Play your guitar for real at MSG '02 Ronnie!"

Yes!

Maxy!

No! Giant inflatable phalli only! I don't care what Marianne may or may not have used! Accept no substitutes!

See my post on Bridges, Honk. I think I'm in trouble.

On June 16, 2001 the hit counter of the WET page was inserted here, it had 174,489 hits. Now the hit counter is for both the page and the board.
