yep..good to see five ABB songs - at a stadium show, too.
I guess they think Euro audiences are more receptive to the new ones and they obviously dont feel as reluctant to play a couple of ballads back to back either.

Just listened in the phone. Keith (or is it Ronnie? hard to tell with that reception) is playing banjo, while Mick sings something which sounds like :

I'm popeye the sailor man
I live in a pot of jam
The jam gets so sticky
It tickles my dicky
I'm popeye the sailor man

I'm popeye the sailor man
I live in a caravan
I sleep with my granny
and tickle her fanny
I'm popeye the sailor man..

Are you drunk????

BTW...it's Keith on banjo....and they are playing right here in my bedroom

corgi37 Sounds like a great show, but i wish to Christ they'd dump Night time. Whats the point? Why not a tribute to Beethoven or something. They could nicely slot a Gimme Shelter or really surprise with something bizarre like Come On.

The version I learned when I was a kid started like this:
"I'm Popeye the sailor man
I live in a garbage can..."

Must be a cultural difference.

jaggergurl is there anything better than a couple of Glimmers smiling with Mr. Woods & The always Impeccable Mr. Watts onstage?!?!
*sigh*

Bitch I noticed the B stage has drastically changed from the US tour. At Giant's Stadium and Fenway it was much smaller and lower to the ground. Pictured here in Vienna it is much larger and higher up.

Here's the B stage from Giants Stadium Sept 15, 2005.

As you can see it is much lower and smaller!

The stadium holds 50,000 for football so it would be less than that for a concert

You have to remember that the date for this concert (and many others) has been changed because of all the postponements and thats going to affect the attendance as many people cant go on a new date at short notice (especially tourists or even locals with holiday plans)

Bjornulf on IORR said that it was originally a sell out, but with the date being changed there were a few thousand cancellations. Still about 80% full from what I understand.
16th July 2006 06:57 AM
corgi37 Shhhh, dont tell JB!!!

I like that "Jurassic Park" reference on the paper of Adolf's country. I guess we know what they were saying:

"Jah! Da iss goot! Mein Got, those old Englanders play like madmen!"

Jumping Jack Substituting Streets of Shit for Midnight Rambler and people are happy?

That is more HUMILIATING than having JT on stage!

THE END HAS COME AND IT IS PAINFUL.

LOL..they didnt substitute it - both were played in Milan

I think the Rain Fall Down/Shes So Cold combination was the 'replacement'

jb So we had 45k in 50k seat stadum and the German show was worse...???
18th July 2006 09:30 AM
Gazza bigger stadium in Munich

some fans on IORR who were at Munich said it was officially a sell out but that many fans were able to move from the stands to the pitch, which was very overcrowded.

Hannover seems to have only 350-500 seats left, with the pitch being sold out
