Everything is ready for the BIG BANG
09 Jul 2007 12:16 +0100

Budva – Even though for many people it still sounds incredible Budva will tomorrow be a musical center of the world, and one day before the onset of the biggest rock band in the history of music “The Rolling Stones” the concert fever is highly sensible.

Long awaited spectacle begins tomorrow (current date being 08.07) on Jaz at 8 p.m. Mick Jagger with his old-timers will come to Budva already today, and high security will guarantee total discretion to music stars who will stay in the most luxurious suite in Becici hotel Splendid.

Even though we are unaccustomed to see persons of world jet-set walking in our towns it looks like we will have to get used to that because the confirmation of a well organized concert is a great recommendation for the arrival of other music stars.
That is why it wouldn’t be strange to have on a virgin beach already next year another great spectacle, and have Budva included in concert tours of music starts such as Madonna or Robbie Williams.

Only two months ago no one could imagine that Budva will win the battle with some of the world jet-set metropolis such as Nice, Saint Trope, Ibiza which for years have been rejected by the Stones.
Let alone Zagreb who for two years in a row in the last minute is being erased from the concert map of this band.

And everything started because vice president of DPS Svetozar Marovic managed to contact managers of this band after which they came to an idea that as a part of the world tour “A Bigger Bang” Budva could be one of the places where the concert will be held. Active participation of the Municipality came after and then the local administration in cooperation with the Belgrade production house “Music star” has taken over the entire organization. The concert of the Rolling Stones is on 4th place on the chart of top world events, after the Olympic games, Formula 1, and the visit of the Pope of some state.

That the interest for the concert is big confirms as Raka Maric the director of Music star and the executive producer says the extremely good sale of tickets in the last 48 hours.
- In the last 48 hours the sale of tickets is huge. We have standpoints in all major coastal towns. Until now we have sold about 50.000 tickets, though the exact figure we will know ten days after the concert. We expect that until the concert we will be sol out. The Stones are coming today and they will be our dear guests, and they are heading for Barcelona from Montenegro where they will play on a private party. That fee wil be two to three times bigger than the ones in Budva and Belgrade. They, else, can’t wait to come to Montenegro because they have never been here, and that is because, when I was describing to them where they are supposed to come I told them that Montenegro is the youngest, smallest and the most beautiful state in the world – said Marc on a yesterday’s press conference.

On Jaz almost everything is ready for the concert of the Stone; the stage is having its finalization, last preparations in order for the concert to be great are being done etc.
The surface of the concert space on Jaz is 100.000 square meters, and the gear for the concert was brought by 68 trucks, which came with the ferries. The stage on which the legendary band will play is 70 meters wide and 30 meters high. There will be also a smaller stage on which the Stones will play and sing several songs, which is connected with the big stage. On a stage weighting 800 tones which was placed by more than 500 workers they will have the test concert, which unfortunately will not be attended by the members of the band.

Equipment with the stage, light, sound system, and special effects is about one billion of dollars worth. The lights which will be used for the concert has about 1.800 reflectors, among which are 10 airplane lights, 400 sound boxes and they have used about 150 km of electrical cable.

For the spectacle itself they have made 10 standpoints of health care centers of which one of them is a surgery hall on wheels, and they will also have one helicopter unit in which there will be doctors of the MIA, and the traffic which during the day of the concert will be very big, only around Jaz will be managed by 146 traffic police officers from entire Montenegro.
Visitors of the concert will have a parking space on a parking lot on Lastva, which is free of charge, and which has 100 parking places, and the bus transport will be 1.50 euros.

The concert of the Stones, as the organizers claim will last for 2 hours and 15 minutes and for that time they will play mostly old hits for which they are famous. From the new album they will play only few songs, which is characteristic for all the towns in which they are coming for the first time.

With the concert tour of the Rolling Stones “A Bigger Bang” during which they will visit Montenegro this group marks 45 years of their first concert and with that the end of their joint carrier. During the tour there are about 600 people working for them, and it takes 3 millions and 850 vats of power for their onsets. Until now the Rolling Stones have published 55 albums with original songs and mixtures, had 37 top 10 hits, entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, and in 2004 they took one of the leading places in top chart of the biggest music players of all times. This concert will be one of the biggest tourist attractions and the Rolling Stones will come to Montenegro from Rome where two days ago they had a concert.

Raka Maric announced that the concert with fore groups starts at 18h. Dado Topic with the group Time will go first. From 19 Regina will play, and an hour later the audience will be able to hear the group the Thirst.
The Stones will start playing at 9 p.m. revealed Maric, and Wolfgang Clinger thanked Budva for a perfect organization.

According to the words of Baja Radoman from Tourist organization of the Municipality of Budva there is a great interest for the concert, and the crews from Rai Uno, BBC, CNN, France press have already come.

Vuk Lajovic – Marija Vasic

ABRAMOVIC MIGHT STOP BY

Beside the presidents of Croatia and Serbia, Stjepan Mesic and Boris Tadic on VIP stand on Jaz there will be some other famous personalities from the world of politics.
- President of Georgia and Bulgaria are coming, then everyone from the Government of Montenegro, at the head with the president of the Republic Filip Vujanovic. Also, we will have many persons from the world of business, and Roman Abramovic might come also. For the time being we know that beside the politicians on VIP stands the concert will be seen by many football players, water polo player, and our basketball players who are playing in NBA have also announced their arrival – said Raka Maric.

UNIFORMS FOR THE DRIVERS, WATER AND CANDIES MUST NOT LACK

For the security of Jagger and the concert they have engaged Budva agency Guardian which has engaged 500 man for this spectacle. As we found out, except for the security of the concert area Guardian will be engaged also for personal security of the stars, their transport from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to Jaz. Mick and the friends demanded high security in the hotel, especially on the fifth floor where they will be staying. As we found out, only today the information from London will come where and when the starts will land.

The Stones have asked to have 3 Mercedes cars class S at their disposal, 1 audi A8 and a BMW X5. They have also asked the Guardian to give them drivers who speak excellent English, who are very familiar with the town so that they could be some kind of a guide for them. The drivers, as we found out, are strongly forbidden to communicate with the stars unless they are spoken to. It is mandatory that every limousine has to have certain amounts of water, candies so that their travel from Becici to Jaz would be as comfortable as possible. The drivers cannot play music, unless someone from the group asks for that, and one of the very important things is that they have to be dressed in white shirts and black pants.

FORGERS

Only a few days before the concert of the Rolling Stones some fingered tickets appeared in the sale.
Original tickets shave signs P1, P2, P3, a register number, Bar code as well as the price, while the fake ones are entirely different and they don’t have the price of a ticket on them.

Original tickets for the concert of this legendary band can be bought in all CD shops Mozart, tourist organizations of Bar, Cetinje, Budva, Kolasin, Rozaje, Danilovgrad, Zabljak, in offices of CKB, in hotels “The Queen of Montenegro”, “Palas”, “Aleksandar”, “Slovenska plaza”, “ and “Palma”. Also original tickets for this big event are sold in tourist agencies Adriatic express, La Bostam Gorbis, Meridijan, Family, My travel, Onogost tours, Sun tours, Rams, and Millennium,

HOW TO REACH JAZ

Concert area on Jaz of 800.000 square meters is three kilometers away from Budva, and 28 km from the airport Tivat.
The way to come from Budva is down the old road towards Lastva Grbaljska where a parking lot has been made with 12.000 parking places where those coming from Tivat, Kotor, and Hreceg Novi too will be leaving their cars. It has been predicted that 50 buses will go from Budva to Jaz and Lastva Grbaljska. The pick up place is near the Adriatic fair in Budva where a parking lot has also been made. Bus will be taking visitors towards the turning point for the beach Jaz where a standpoint for control of tickets will be places. Only special vehicles such as police E.R. production team etc.) buses of organized transport and visitors of VIP stage will be allowed to pass through on the highway. Vehicles going from Tivat to Lastva Grbaljska will also be allowed to go this way but they will have to go down the specially determined side of the road, along the right side road towards Trsteno up to the turning point on the left side towards the newly built road which goes towards the car camp Jaz where the parking lot for VIP guests has been made. From there owners of VIP stands will be going towards the section for VIP, which are positioned along the right side of the stage. Selling spots for the purchase of the tickets will be organized on both parking lots” on Adriatic fair and in Lastva Grbaljska which are the beginning and final point of the organized transport for the visitors. Main standpoint for the pre-control of the tickets is the turning point from the highway towards Jaz, from where the visitors with VIP tickets will go with their vehicles over the right side of the road. Middle, fenced part of the road is predicted for the entrance of persons who have tickets Pi and P2, while the left side is intended for special vehicles. Main control of the tickets with Bar code readers with sufficient power of passage of 62.000 visitors with P2 on their tickets, is located after the road for Trsteno and after the turn on the left side towards the shore in the channeled funnel across the stage. The entrance with P1 left is on the left side on the road towards Trsteno in the height of the front line of the stage, and for P1 right the entrance is from the auto camp Jaz from the parking for VIP visitors, between the VIP section and the front right part edge of the stage. The owners of P1 right tickets when they come will have to go around the entire circle of the concert space as well as the representatives of media with proper licenses, who are entering at the same gate.
Restrictive zones of staying have been clearly marked, and among them are the area of backstage, between the old road towards the beach Jaz and the stage, as well as the old road towards the beach.

GotToRollMe Montenegro: Rolling Stones in concert
9 July 2007 12:24

BUDVA -- Everything is ready for the Rolling Stones concert due to take place at a Montenegrin beach resort this evening.

The group will perform on a beach near the coastal town of Budva. The Rolling Stones arrived in Montenegro Sunday, though their whereabouts are being kept secret in order to avoid journalists and paparazzi.

The stage has been set up in a concert area of about 100,000 square meters.

Equipment for the show has arrived by boat in 68 trucks. A smaller stage on which the band will perform will be set up as well.

Thus far, about 50,000 tickets have been sold, but organizers expect that the tickets will be sold out by the time the concert begins.

Attending the show will be Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, along with the presidents of Georgia, Bulgaria and many celebrities.

It was announced that Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich may also be in attendance.

The Rolling Stones have asked for three Mercedeses, one Audi and one BMW and English speaking drivers as they arrived in Montenegro.

However, the drivers will not be allowed to speak unless spoken to, according to the band's demands.

The concert is expected to last for over two hours.

Not a bad attendance at all. Quite surprised. Obviously its become quite a major celeb event too. I'd no idea Abramovich was a Stones fan.

23K unsold tickets the day before a show further demonstrates the lack of demand for the product being presented. This would not be the case in the "good'ol days".

I fear that Michael Cohl is preoccupied with papering and saving "The Police" tour which is receiving dreadful reviews and virtually zero secondary ticket market. One can only assume that Jacob Cohl has been placed in charge of the Stones tour (he is like a son to Mick!) and may be a bit in over his head. They will at least make the venue appear full by moving the stage closer to the center similar to Rome and by allowing unruly fans (see: Rome) free roaming to better seats.

perhaps FOS is a better descriptive term. Bottom line is there have been several instances where sales have not been strong. In years past, these tickets would be sold the day they went on sale, not through trickery such as faux sellouts, presales, legacy memberships, student discounts, etc.
