could we do this: send me the torrent file and I will upload to my server, using my url people could click and start downloading...i hope anyway

absolutely - you want the washington 1978 one right now..?

and then that *.torrent file would be linked at www.charloteswebsite.com/wash78.torrent

eventually, i think the trinity will host them on a page here that will be indexed by date, players, etc.

the *.torrent files are tiny (little scripts). they dont tax bandwidth. but if you have upspeed to share, and can connect to swarms, then you really help, because you would be helping to serve the sources up to people that way. that is the quickest way to give legs to he torrent swarms. this kind of organized effort was how i got so many jerry shows up a few years back - the scholar would pick 'em, i would seed them, and i had a few friends that would connect, grab, and seed for the first 24 or so hours, until there were 20+ seeds, and the swarm had legs to live a while...

i think the idea is to get whoever is torrenting stones stuff to send the *.torrent file so it and the info could be added to the index. we could keep track of new seeds, reseeds, old seeds, etc.

sorry for veering off on a tangent...

anyway - if you want the washington78 *.torrent file, shoot me a PM with your email addy, and i will send it on over to ya...

and, many thanks for the offer of help.

my source is like that, too - my guess is that the cut is on the master sbd recording, or at least the one that circulates...

did you..?

before you posted, 8 people had downloaded the compete source. after you posted the url here, the total went to 15 as of this morning...

i am curious - are you still connected and seeding..? i am disconnected at the moment, and i was wondering f the tracker was still working, or if i had to do something different this time. there should be a way for me to do it so that even when i am down, the torrent still functions properly - that is the point of the sistributed tracker system. i was wondering if it works (i mean we are pretty cutting edge - the program was just released a few days ago )...

___

on a related not, they have put the search engine in at http://www.bittorrent.com/ type in a band name, and links to active torrents should appear. when i searched a few things, i rec'd some strange results, but i figured some of you might be curious, so i wanted to post the link so you could have at it...

_____

thanks for the leeway, charlotte - i taped a band last night, and before i get hammered with emails, i want to get it up on the LlaMA (they allow that sort of thing). as soon as my upload finishes - i will connect as a seed, and send the *.torrent to you...

oakland it is...
May 27th, 2005 02:08 PM

thanks for the help, amigo.
May 27th, 2005 02:21 PM
mac_daddy oh, and as an update, after these two 78 sources, i am going to put up, one after the other, the remainder of t&a's cassettes - i have had those for far too long... also, i transferred those cassettes @ 24/96, so if anyone want those hirez transfers (not the dithered down ones we seed via torrents), let me know. i am going to give a whack at burning them to dvd-a, and also straight WAV files, so if you have one of those players, or want the raw WAVs, hit me with a PM...

May 27th, 2005 02:23 PM
charlotte I have the file open on my torrent but on version 4.4.1 beta it doesn't indicate sharing or upload like the older version,"Done, share ratio: 9%"

I am downloading a Bruce show right now, but does the seeding on rs1978 continuing? but showing on the torrent bar under neath the download

thanks, charlotte. that is what i am asking. are you currently connected as a seed, or is your client open, but you are getting an error message of some kind (like "unable to connect to tracker")..? thanks for getting back to me on this.

4.41 beta of what, the client from bitorrent.com..? my suggestion is to run azerus. it runs using java, so you want the most recent java install - and this is a little tricky, because you have to uninstall java (add/remove programs from the control panel - pick all java installs) before installing the newest version. anyway - if you do it, and it is good to keep java updated, anyway), then download the latest build of azerus. both the java ("latest java jre") and the azerus downloads can be found here...

azerus is very feature rich, so it might look ominous for a while, but it is really nice to have all the info that it provides (and the extra info helps me know what is wrong with other people's computers, which makes it easier for me to get them back on track)...

May 27th, 2005 03:47 PM
charlotte yeah that was BitTorrent.com, I downloaded azerus and started the rs file again(I deleted last nights download to start fresh again this afternoon), and the Tracker Status:Connection Error(Connection refused:connect)
May 27th, 2005 04:06 PM
mac_daddy ok - so that answers my question - i need to be connected for the wash78 torrent to work. thank you for the info.

do you need me to reconnect, so you can pull it again before we do the oak78 source..?
May 27th, 2005 04:16 PM
charlotte yep, looks like that's what is needed, I downloaded azerus and opened the port6881 UDP, and it's waiting on a peer...the Health is RED, I am also downloading French Made using azerus, Health is GREEN-working great

thanks Mac, I guess a few bugs to work out before August!

you can go ahaed and send Oakland and Chicago when ready, I will upload to my server and place url on the board...

Also once I download I will keep the seed open all weekend...

Gazza, are you following all of this?? any thoughts?

[Edited by charlotte]
May 27th, 2005 05:06 PM
Gazza Ive connected to the Washington file a few times over the last few days but I think I need to clear some space on my hard drive to get it faster as like everything else I've tried to download in the last few days, its been quite slow.

Cream Remasters 20 Cd Set (FLAC)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heres the 20CD set of cream remasters. Be warned it is very big. Totals 6.38GB.
For that you get some of the greatest performances from one of the greatest Rock/Blues bands in history. Some of the performances are staggering.

Im not sure of the name of the guy who remastered them but his site is here
http://twtd.bluemountains.net.au/cream/ with info on these bootlegs here http://twtd.bluemountains.net.au/cr...heremasters.htm
Im pretty sure the guy who runs the site also remastered them.

The total set is actually 24CD's. I haven't included the final 4 CD's. These are from the farewell tour and aren't generally seen to be great performances. I know i have one of them around somewhere and i think i might also have the other one. If i find them ill post them at a later date. Your not missing much really.

These flac files are taken from his original remasters which i believe are sent out on CD-R direct from him. So lineage is Bootleg CDR->EAC->Wav->Flac

Thanks charlotte!

Actually I've seen this masterpiece a week ago. Anyway, I would like to have something more specific for the time being, like a great show of 1968 with most of the classics on the setlist (White Room, Badge, Spoonful, Sunshine of Your Love, Toad, Crossroads, We are going wrong,...).

Unfortunately, I can't find anything like that.

+++++ c'mon and get some, everybody +++++

here is the tracker page - click the name of the file (in the "torrent" column) to download the *.torrent file. open the *.torrent file(s) with your favorite bit torrent client to start downloading...

dont be afraid to share - send those *.torrent files (as email attachments) to anybody who is interested in downloading lossless stones. post the *.torrent files as attachments to bulletin boards where you think there is interest. *** i would rather have you send the *.torrent files, and post those around the 'net, than i would have you send the tracker url around - thanks, in advance, for your cooperation in this *** but please spread the *.torrent files around - with bit torrent, the more the merrier...

have fun, and be sure to thank marko - after all he sent them to me in the first place. i will get the chicago source up sometime this weekend. have a nice weekend, and be sure to enjoy your new stones tunes AT FULL VOLUME.

to recap, washington, d.c.(6/15/78) and oakland(7/26/78) are now available for download here!!

oh, and here is the info on the oakland show - apparently, this is the final show of the 1978 US tour.

let it rock
all down the line
honky tonk women
star star
when the whip comes down
beast of burden +
lies
miss you +
just my imagination
shattered
respectable
far away eyes
love in vain
tumbling dice
happy
sweet little sixteen
brown sugar
jumping jack flash
satisfaction

+ with bobby keys (saxophone)

* many thanks to marko for the disc.
