Mac and others, I have never gone over 10kbps on uploads, I have noticed in discussion forums 20-25kbps is the most you can hope for since there are so many other variables outside your control...I am curious, what has been the average for those who are seeding torrents on the board? So I can have a goal to shoot for...Thanks

i am on adsl (so is almost everybody else that has dsl - unless you are paying through the nose)...

my upspeed does not get much above 37 kB/s, but it stays there, un;less the people connected to me have a screwed up machine, so they are downloading very slowly

but 37kB/s is what i get if i am dedicated. if i want to surf the web, and do other stuff, i need to choke it at about 30 kB/s (so the internet traffic has some bandwidth to use)...

fwiw - i think the magical box thing is the culprit, too - when you find it, please let us know (i am know you are not alone)...

charlotte Mac, do you have this to seed? Gazza what about you? I cannot find any seeds. Thanks!

mac_daddy yes charlotte - i pulled that from ezt. i will open up in a few minutes...

___

i pulled the wiltern source from the tracker. there are a few things i want to fix - nitpicks, just a few things. most was in the documentation, but people are starting to jump on that one, and i really want to set a good example as far as seding is conerned - there are plenty of examples of sloppiness throughout cyberspace...

no problems with the files - the fingerprints will all match. i just want to rename the files and include the appropriate erification information...

thanks again, for the source.

did you ever get that 1972 source together..? i am looking forward to that one, too...

wiltern2002 will be up shortly...

charlotte Here is the info:I will send you the torrent file via email!

The Rolling Stones
The Coliseum, Charlotte, NC, July 06, 1972

Source: audience recording

Gen: master reel > DAT > CDR(3) > wav (EAC, secure mode) > flac (FLAC Frontend, level 8)

Setlist:
1. Bitch (cuts in)
2. Rocks Off
3. Gimme Shelter
4. Happy
5. Tumbling Dice
6. Love In Vain
7. Sweet Virginia
8. You Can´t Always Get What You Want
9. All Down The Line
10. Midnight Rambler/Band Introductions (cuts in)
11. Bye Bye Johnny
12. Rip This Joint
13. Jumpin´ Jack Flash
14. Street Fighting Man

Length: 65:48 (379MB)

Notes:
This sounds significantly better than VGP´s "Bring It Back Alive" CD.
Also available on the newer VGP "Drippin´ Honey" release which sounds more or less similar but -as usual with Japanese bootleg releases- is unnecessarily equalized and also running a tad slow. This lowgen is the best version of this recording.
The missing parts of the show (Brown Sugar, the first part of Bitch and the beginning of Midnight Rambler) were not recorded.
By the way this is a killer performance and one of the best sounding early 70s recordings I have ever heard.

having some problems with ports at the minute so have been unable to download much...hopefully will get it fixed asap

For the record, folks - a couple of low generation and genuinely real rarities shall be appearing soon for download (I'm sending these to Mac to upload as I'll be away next week)

Ronnie Wood - Drury Lane, London 13.3.05 (NOT the mp3 version that was recently offered on rockpassion)

Stones - Fargo 17.2.99
(the only show from the No Security tour not previously in circulation)

not sure. I'd need to check. Assume you have FLAC Frontend downloaded too (I take it the files are FLAC and not SHN files?)

I'm sure one of the cavalry will be along later to help!

sure. I'll send it off.

Quality is decent. Nothing special, theres a few screamers near the taper. You might be able to do something with it, I think.

Its 101 minutes. "Out of control" and "Sympathy" are incomplete.

Marko - you dont need to have free time for downloads! You can do it while you sleep or are at work!

mac_daddy pacbell did their network tune-up kast night after i went to sleep, and changed everybody's usernames...

hence, the tracker was down from sometime after 10pm pacific time (june 1, 2005) to now, 830 am pacific time (june 2, 2005)

the problem is fixed, the tracker is back up, and if any of you want to reconnect as seeds, it would be much appreciated...

sorry for the downtime, but it had nothing to do with me...

that wiltern show is very good...

charlotte - are you going to upload the bridges and 72 show to the tracker..? go for it. i know it works because both times, i have uploaded the wiltern show, i have done it from the tracker web url. detailed instructions are in this thread...

June 2nd, 2005 11:41 AM
mac_daddy gazza - you have an email ("one thought")

J.J.Flash Guys, what's up with the trackerless thing so far? I didn't understand that, lately I'm having any free time, even to do a google search on this subjec, or even to clear things up reading any bittorrent website.

Have I got that right: W/out the need of a tracker server (site), every torrent user will be able to search for torrents as on P2P networks (i.e. Kazaa, Shareaza, etc)?

Lemme know!

sort of...

go to bitorrent.com - there is a search engine there now...

charlotte mac, the 72 Charlotte concert has been published and ready for seed...just has not been open(tracker) to add the file ...do I need to re-publish to the tracker??

also the B2B Argentina I can publish tonight...

thanks!
June 2nd, 2005 03:30 PM
mac_daddy go to the tracker, click "upload a file," and upload the *.torrent file you made. the other specifics are in the this thread, in the same post where, in big letters, i announced the third 78 show -> it should be easy to find. doing this will put the torrent on the tracker. then go ahead and open your client to be the seed, and things will be ready to go...

do the same with b2b show you want to seed, or anything else you want to seed...

the tracker is fully operational now. it is open for you and anyone else, to upload stones torrents, and to start seeding them. just follow the insstructions posted in this thread, and everything will work. it happened to be down last night due to a freak network error that had nothing to do with me, but i have it all back up, and it should be stable and running for the forseeable future...

let's get these sources up and shared!!!

btw, i would like to thank to all of you for the interest and effort.

_____

charlotte - are you seeding the 9.8.73 show, too, or just the 1972 source..? it looks like the same ip... i am glad you have the upload torrent thing working...

nicely done.

the reason i ask is that i notice your speeds are still a little slow, it is always fastest to dedicate your speed to one seed at a time. also - are you using the ro-ka.org tracker url, or the actual ip #..?

oh, dont be discouraged that i jumped off the torrents (and your uploads ceased... i have both of these sources, so i stopped downloading.

This is a very clear audience recording for the time. Like all the Stones' London 1973 shows, the performance is incredible - among their finest ever IMHO. It's the same recording as Bad Wizard's "Empire Pool" that was torrented on STG, but without the digital errors that were on that copy. Unlike the Bad Wizard release, VGP have spliced Gimme Shelter together with an older, inferior source (The Shaved Disc's "London '73") to give the complete song. Also, don't confuse this with "Timeless: Europe '73", which is Sister Morphine's release of the Brussels and London '73 soundboards.

Artwork, FLAC fingerprints and EAC .log file included.

charlotte mac, i am using the rocksoff url, my upload speed is still low,the port(s) is open( my ISP tech support looked at it) and is pinging very well,

2005-06-02 15:46:30 EST: 2379 / 441
Your download speed : 2436304 bps, or 2379 kbps.
A 297.4 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 452471 bps, or 441 kbps.

the health is green, defrag is less than 1%, but I do need more hard drive space, both drives are less than 10%, so I am hoping that if I get an external 300gb hard drive this should solve the problem...so I am still trying!

Thanks

They could be linked to the torrentlisting on the main tracker page (yeah, I know you guys are probably working on it already - but it's needed now rather than later, so all torrents get a chance to be described - rather than fishing through the 10+ page torrent thread).

KeithRichards What do you all think of torrenting the videos from RS.com's Virtual Ticket section on the Rocks Off Tracker?
I have the new ones on my hard disk and I guess I could figure out how to upload them!
June 3rd, 2005 02:52 PM
Gazza No. absolutely not

Under no circumstances should we torrent anything 'official' as by doing so you're guilty of piracy and copyright infringements and the band's legal advisers would (justifiably) go apeshit as a result.

These people are often ambivalent about collectors sharing audience recordings and boots and the like (which isnt technically illegal), but once you're stealing stuff off their website which they're CHARGING people to see, then that opens up an entire new can of worms and they are likely to be FAR more keen to clamp down on piracy than they would on people sharing bootlegs
